Has anyone thought about just before they go to bed that they might never wake up again? Or about having thought about death? This has been happening to me lately seeing as my left side has been hurting me for about three weeks now. Just curious of what people have to say about this.

It's probably your appendix.

But HEY, I'm no doctor. Not a certified one anyway.

*sweatdrops* Dude, the appendix is on the RIGHT side not the left. But seriously what is your opinion on death. Like dying in your sleep. I think that would suck but painless though.

The thought's crossed my mind once or twice before when I was going to bed, but I quickly found something else to occupy me If I were to continue thinking about the possibility of dying before waking up, I doubt I'd get very much, if any sleep.

As far as thinking about death in general, quite a few times past I've had that thought come to my mind, and I got to thinking about how, whenever I died, that was it. Sure, there may be heaven or hell, or whatever sort of afterlives there are for other religions, but it's scary to think about.

What if there is no afterlife? What if the life you're living right now is the only life you're going to get? It makes things seem awfully short, when you compare it to the rest of eternity that'll come after you die That's an infinitely long time, when put up to the time you'll live right now. I'll stop thinking about it now, because if I keep it up, I'm just going to get myself depressed.

When it comes to your side hurting, you should get it taken a look at, if you haven't made plans to already.

I think there is no afterlife but it seems that with all these different religions stating about Heaven and Hell, along with reincarnation (which would be cool), that it makes life seem longer in a way. But as you said Karadur with the years after death it would seem rather small to the life we live now.

As for my side, I did get it checked out last friday and my doctor said if it continued to hurt till this friday, which would be a week. Then I got to go back for an ultrasound to get done.

Death is something that all living beings have in common. Theres no avoiding it, so why fear it. In my opinion what come after death is phenominal. I dont fear death but I dont welcome it, I want to live as long as possible with no regrets.

I thought something similar about two years ago.

Around Thanksgiving of this year, however, I actually stopped to consider a rather scary fact. In July, when we thought my cancer was viral bronchitis (Long story short, my only symptom was a dry cough), after it didn't get better, my mom visited her doctor (Who is also my doctor), and he suggested I go in the next day for a follow-up. Basically, if this doesn't happen, I'm probably dead right now.

Not that I fear death itself, but the process of dying is something I've always been put off by. Basically, I'd rather have it be quick and painless have drawn out and slowly deteriorating.

Although I hope it doesn't come anytime soon, I'd like to die saving somebody's life. I remember a while back when a friend of my dads almost drowned. I turned out that he was actually dead for a short time. He said that it was very peaceful after the initial panic.

It depends on where you are going after you die, for me if I ever thought about it, it wouldn't bother me cause I know I wouldn't be going to hell. so this is a time to know where you are going, are you going to die and never be seen, or are you going to be with the people you love forever.

I dont know if I'll be back to this thread, thats what i have to say.

Trapster: Yeah but this pain is like constant and doesn't hurt much just enough that I know it's there. It hurts even worse when I lay down on my back.

Masterofmario11: Yeah I remember a few years ago when a friend of my parents was talking about his dad being dead for like thirty minutes. The doctors tried everything to bring him back and he woke up like he was just been sleeping. Which I find weird but amasing that his dad didn't suffer from anything after that expirence.

And since i'm highly afraid of death, well.

It's not so much death that I fear, but the fact that there's so much I haven't done while I'm alive.

Supposedly, you really begin living once you come to grips with the fact that someday you will die.

Well the other day right when I woke up I sat up and this girl whom I knew but can't remember who it was was pointing a gun at me. She fired a shot into my head, then my neck, my chest, and stomach. And as I collapsed dying I thought "this really sucks." It was a dream, supposedly.

It was a dream, supposedly... Math it's not that hard to tell if it's a dream now if it happened awhile ago and you're not dead. I know the board is falling apart but that's not really an excuse to say something like that.

Now, so that this isn't spam:

Death is bad, yeah. A coworker of someone I work for died recently, as did someone I know. It saddens me to think about it, really. Which is why I don't typically think about it. Great, now I'm gonna cry...

Just over a year ago, my cousin Adam was killed in a motorcycle accident. He was only 16. I've used this as a painful reminder that life is too short. This is a message to all of you - live your life to the fullest.

I've used this as a painful reminder that life is too short. This is a message to all of you - don't fricking tell people to live their lives to the fullest. I mean what kind of message is that, you'd expect to see it on fortune cookies. People can live their lives how the please and cheesy sentiment won't change that.

Jeez I didn't even think I was being subtle. The point was that my opinion of death is that it would suck. If I was dying, I think that's what would be going through my mind. And in response to Dark Vampriel's question, yes. But thinking like that makes it harder to get to sleep. :p
