AOL failed... years ago. I still have that AOL CD but they failed so competly here.

Their homesite still exist but urgh... it hadn't been updates since 1997. I can why they failed, we have quite aggresive consumer base here. We have harsh rules and companies that dosen't server their customers die... I love Plus. ^___^

My ISP was down like that for a month once, then they decided to close it down in my area... then I got ADSL instead.

I actually tried the swedish AOL a few years back. The main modem pool number led to a "Gunnar" in Gothenburg. He must get some kickass voicemails.

Oh, and for the rest of you, the "Plus" thing Kitten Yiffer's referring to is a TV show that protects customers and kicks deadbeat company ass in general.

I think I saw AOL discs when internet was still kinda new.. I'm sure most Swedes dissed it though, so we went cool instead of fool.

I'm surprised that Sweden basically shot down AOL.

...And *MAN*, is that AOL Sweden page sad. The download link's still active in case anyone wants to run up bandwidth for the hell of it.

Heh, but it does have a forum for homesexual people...

And well, AOL is using marketing strategies that we find quite, let say. Dumb and unserious here.

The only countries where AOL is available, according to the (still updated) AOL.ca page: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and USA.

Wonder how many Japanese use it.

First of all, I (and everyone else I've spoken to about it) finds it retarded to offer a service called America Online in Sweden. Second of all... I actually think it's not necessary to carry on after that.
