| Hey, I'd like to back up some of my VHS tapes into a digital format. Anyone know of any external video capture devices and/or TV tuners? I'm on a laptop, which is why they have to be external (which all models may be, given I'm unfamiliar with these things as a whole, but my quick research indicates "no"). Also, if anyone knows of any places, on or offlines, where I could get them, it would be greatly appreciated. I plan to ask for this for Christmas, and my relatives (By and large) are going to have an extremely difficult time even grasping what an "External TV Tuner" is, let alone know where to get one. Thanks! |

| i know a few that connect via USB and Firewire. The brand I know is called Dazzle. However, these extenal things aren't cheap. Let me do a little searching to see if i can find an example. | |||
