Yeah, but the problem with the version of 1.8a is that it's completely insecure. You need to do a lot of work on it to get rid of the annoying security holes that virtually everyone knows how to exploit now. (Well not everyone, but a good deal of people do know them)

Unless you are PHP savvy, I would not recommend downloading the 1.8a version that's floating around.

Yes, it even lacks some basic things which was implemented later. So on my old copy a guest could search for admin's posts - it showed also these in restricted forums (it is not that hard to change that with adding something checking power if powerlevel>0 - but just for knowing

)

It is an old version, and there are some known security holes. To learn how to fix some, but not all, of them and set up forums, go to http://www.cymoro.com/abhacks/abinstall.php(read this first to see if you can use AcmlmBoard). If you don't understand the installation instructions, you will not be able to run your own copy of AcmlmBoard.

From the FAQ

Well ... there is no released copy of it that can be downloaded, so the only way you can get one is by getting a copy from someone who has it. Also, the latest distributed version is 1.8, and the current version isn't in a distributable state (some beta versions have been given but they're exceptional cases). You may have a better chance of getting a copy if you aren't some random newcomer who comes just to ask for the board; many requests stay ignored. Also, if you ever get a copy, keep in mind you need some place to run it on, and need support for PHP and MySQL. AcmlmBoard doesn't have an admin control panel either, so you may be screwed if you don't know how to mess around with the .php files to configure a few things, and MySQL database managing software (such as PHPMyAdmin) can be very useful.

Now.. I wouldn't post the link, I'd PM it to people with over 120 posts (min)
