It will probably not be appearing until some version after v2.00. I had initially hoped to get it into the next release, but it will take too long to implement properly (I really wanted to have v2.00 out by now). Still, I am starting to put some ideas together for it. File Format: Header 0:3 . "FLUX" 4 . Schema 5:6 . Version (BCD) 7:8 . Packets in file 9:1F . NULL Packets 0:1 . Category 2:3 . Slot 4:5 . Size 6:1F . NULL 20 . Data Pad packet to multiple of 0x20 for easy graphics viewing Comments? Saving to an already existing file will automatically append packets. The exact interface is a bit up in the air. What should it ask the user? I cannot estimate a release date for v2.00, but I have begun coding work on the last major feature (Expandable Strings). ---T.Geiger (edited by Geiger on 04-27-05 06:57 AM) |

A little off topic, I guess, but I'm not sure where else to post it, and I'd rather not PM, since I'd like the idea to be out in the open, but...that offset listing for Chrono Trigger, have you ever considered making a wiki out of it, for people to add to as they find new stuff in the ROM? I've not seen any Wikis on ROM hacking, either generally about the topic or about a specific game or aspect of it. It surprises me a bit, since it seems that a lot of people have something to add in regards to things like tutorials on ROM hacking, and it seems that a bunch of people have information on specific ROMs, but not a lot of it gets shared (like, for example, I'm sure a lot of people would kill to have the list of offsets used to make Lunar or Hyrule Magic, rather than have to either start from scratch or use the program). Well, back on topic. Your program kicks ass, but even better that you're sharing the information used to make it. Better than open source. Keep up the good work. |

have you ever considered making a wiki out of it? No. Such things have been tried in the past by other people and they have utterly failed. The openness of information does not appear to relate in any meaningful way to collaboration on it. I accept information from other people to add to the database. But between both offset guides, I can count the number of times I have been contacted by third parties on one hand. ---T.Geiger |

The TF guide is planned to be mirrored on the Compendium's Encyclopedia (a Mediawiki), and I do plan to record Event information there. However, this is of course limited to Chrono Trigger and not other games. Sorry.

Those are unused Belthasar sprites. There was a recent thread on the Chrono Compendium that had pictures of those sprites and others. edit: http://www.chronocompendium.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?t=655 (edited by JLukas on 04-29-05 04:24 PM) |

Someone's told me this before, but I've since forgotten and I find myself unable to reason my way past it. I know Monster data can be edited along with sprites, etc. and everything else grouped together, but can specific attacks be edited or added? For instance, giving a Green Imp (in addition to Kick / Jump Kick) the spell "Hallation?" As I'm going through the Monster Encylcopedia, I'm considering changes and placement for monsters in Crimson Echoes. I'm noticing that a few monsters (like Alien) have hardly any attacks, and seem to be wastes of time. One of the most important aspects of CE will be providing a great challenge.

Most of the monster attacks can probably be given to other monsters. I do not know the specifics though. ---T.Geiger |

I agree with you xZeaLitYx there should be other attacks for monsters. I don't think any of you guys figure out any new attacks for monsters, thought I don't know if temporal flux can make new attacks or give any attack to a monstor or even take away monster attacks. This is what I think you guys should do, give them about two or more attacks for almost every monster.

I can certainly have a lot of fun with Temporal Flux, but since the site in the first page has been taken down, I'm wondering if any has mirrored the program. |
