I'm using Temporal Flux to complete the Vehicles encyclopedia at the moment, and I randomly clicked on Location {048} Prison Stairwell. I received this error: ''127' is not a valid value for 'Value'. 'Value' should be between 'Minimum' and 'Maximum'. I have received that error myself. It seems that Locations can have a value of 7F for their maximum scroll boundary even though no map could ever be more than 3F in width or height. This has been fixed in the WIP version. Hey. I seem to be having problems with character replacing. This is an issue with the game, not Temporal Flux. Even if you lock PC1 to Magus using a PAR code, it still stops responding at that point in the game. I am not really sure why; it is probably something in the event script for that room. ---T.Geiger (edited by Geiger on 01-25-05 09:19 PM) |

Ok, thanks. I guess Magi Trigger will have to take a detour for now. I might try to write a new event script to better advance the story... Eep. Now I'm actually going to have to show some effort. X_X |

Geiger, any plans to incorporate an advanced enemy or item editor? I know there's quite a few editors out there already, but with your skills, something better could obviously be created... For example, it would be nice to have the power to change what skills characters and enemies can use. Do you forsee a possibility of this? I'm sure it's probably on a lower priority than most things, if it is... Am I right? |

But right now I am more concerned with adding things other editors cannot do. but with your skills, something better could obviously be created Not necessarily. Some other editors are about as advanced as they possibly could be for what they edit. it would be nice to have the power to change what skills characters and enemies can use The latter is possible, but enemy AI is not on the docket for the next release. The former may not be possible at all. Preliminary research indicates that skills are hardcoded to PCs. And this makes sense, since most of the techs use custom animations. More research will have to be done to be certain though. At the very least, it is not as easily customizable as Final Fantasy VI. ---T.Geiger |

Interesting. I just want to applaud Geiger's everything approach. You really know the ambition and dreaming is present when a person answers "EVERYTHING" to an inquiry of a project's scope. That's how it is with the Compendium; I desire it to be the alpha and omega of the Chrono series fan universe.

Zeality, you're doing a wonderful job, BTW. I checked out your site and have found no other place so devoted to completely chronicling Chrono Trigger. And the scope of Evil Peer's editor is unbelievable. Both of you keep it up!

Okay, new notable. I didn't mention this earlier, but while fiddling with the music option(which I never got to work right), I think I somehow corrupted my Cathedral music. It became this strange, haunting melody. I decided I wanted to listen to your SPC files, so I downloaded an SPC file player, and your pack. Lo and behold, "Orchestrated Cathedal" turns out to be the exact same melody. Any idea how this happened? I've never even messed with SPCs before now. |

I do'nt quite have the solution, but out of pure interest, enter the cathedral in ZSNES and right before the music plays, hit F1 and rip the .spc. Try to find me on AIM and send it. I'd like to hear the variation. Thanks Heian. Now, I'm beginning to take advantage of ROM hacking to further enhance the encyclopedia and our knowledge. JLukas is making strides with the Japanese script, while Chickenlump is assisting me with ripping graphics. That faux-3D sprite of the Epoch only seen in the Lavos shell crash will soon be available for viewing. |

Okay, Zeality. I'll go find the rom and do it. Another thing: I may have solved the case of the irreplacable Crono. The memory that's written in the Load Screen might have something to do with it... Specifically, the memory labeled PC1. |

So, I patched the teaser to a rom using SNES tool, and opened it with TF... Some very interesting things in there. I copied the special battle from the Zenan bridge section, and initiated it in the Geno Dome section, with this result. http://www.geocities.com/divinedragoonkain/image17.bmp All I can say is: Wow. **EDIT** Hey, Geiger? I mixed this up for ZeaLitY earlier. Whaddya think? http://www.geocities.com/divinedragoonkain/Smooth_Corridors.zip **/EDIT** (edited by DivineDragoonKain on 01-30-05 07:27 AM) |

Hey, Geiger? I mixed this up for ZeaLitY earlier. Whaddya think? Enh, its decent. I am not the best person to ask about such things. BTW, I did not actually "mix" the SPCs on my website; they were produced as a side-effect to some other stuff I was doing. Essentially they were an accident. (edit) Er, well, I did mix the Spooky West track, as that was obviously not a part of the original game. ---T.Geiger (edited by Geiger on 02-01-05 03:03 PM) |

No clue what happened here. I was messing with the Overworld Exits(modifying an existing one, not adding) and this happened. |

I got a similar-looking problem while editing non-overworld areas (!). Entering the areas and exiting them again (from a savestate) would mean trash on the upper and the collision layer, starting a new game also fucked the lower layer. It looks like some sorts of a pointer problem to me

I think the only problem is getting myself adjusted to the .Net loading times. (I'm far too used to Lunar Magic and instant loading). My two cents, whether you use it to buy coffee or not is your choice. |

I think the only problem is getting myself adjusted to the .Net loading times. (I'm far too used to Lunar Magic and instant loading). Rendering Chrono Trigger maps is much more complex than Super Mario World. FuSoYa started a Chrono Trigger editor named Lunar Trigger which was never finished, though it could edit Location maps. Last time I checked, TF's managed code ran just slightly slower than LT's native code (5 seconds for large maps). Version 1.06 renders a 3 megapixel image on the fly in software. The WIP version renders a 12 megapixel image in about the same amount of time. As for the exit problem above, please make sure you have v1.06. If you do, please send me a patch of your modifications (check my profile for address). In the meantime, try to recreate the problem, and send me that also. ---T.Geiger |

Shows you how much I've worked with the editor. However, I do plan to change that, and hopefully I might have an expansive knowledge of Chrono Trigger just like you, Geiger, for the hack that I have planned in my mind. I'll have to do a lot of work to complete my vision. Ever wonder what would happen if The Legend of Zelda met Chrono Trigger? That would be quite interesting...omg teh spoiler |
