So I had my first lucid dream last night. It was cool. I was walking down the road, when I realised the stuff I read about lucid dreams, so I did the test to see if you're dreaming. I looked at my watch. I put my arm down. I looked at my watch again. Two minutes passed in the span of about three seconds. So I knew I was dreaming. Thinking it was totally awesome to be in a lucid dream, I thought I'd test some stuff out. I started with doing a little jump to see what would happen. I zoomed up into the sky. I was concentrating on trying to get back down, but that didnt work. Looked down at the clouds as I was flying up into the sky and then woke up. That was fun! ^^ I wish it lasted longer though and gave me a little bit more control... >>

Lucid dreams are great. I usually have them after I've been up an ungodly amount of time and I just lay down. It will happen right between the area of "awake" and "sleep". That little mid point there where you're a little bit of both. Mine usually consist of me jumping in a moon like gravity, doing backflips and jumping off walls. It's great because you can control yourself and have concious thoughts yet it's different than when you're wide awake. It's as if a different part of your brain is thinking for you. Can't really describe it too well in words. |

Well, my last really lucid dream was so normal it was frightening. It was simply a day in my life and I just got to really reflect on what I was doing for an indefinite amount of time for each action. Basically, it led to a "perfect" day. It was INSANE.

I got the reality test from this a while back: http://www.lucidity.com/LucidDreamingFAQ2.html Here's what it says: Carry some text with you or wear a digital watch throughout the day. To do a reality test, read the words or the numbers on the watch. Then, look away and look back, observing the letters or numbers to see if they change. Try to make them change while watching them. Research shows that text changes 75% of the time it is re-read once and changes 95% it is re-read twice. If the characters do change, or are not normal, or do not make sense, then you are most probably dreaming. Enjoy! If the characters are normal, stable, and sensible, then you probably aren't dreaming. Go on to step 2. |

For some reason, I tend to spend that kind of dream just ogling the reality of my surroundings. Usually, If I try anything crazy (like flying), I wake up pretty quickly. The fun stuff only happens in my "normal" dreams. Someon needs to invent a device that can detect when you're having a lucid dream, and inject/zap you with something to keep you asleep a while longer. |

I'm not sure if this was a lucid dream or not, but once I had a dream were I was bouncing around in a place with very little gravity. I was trying to get down on the ground, but I just bounced up again, and everytime I did, the sun blended me. There wasn't any houses around, or anything. It was all just flat. Heh, in the dream it was hard to control myself (although I'm fairly sure I could), but I remember thinking that I didn't want to bounce around like this, and I also felt uncomfortable because of it. I was also annoyed because the sun blended me, and because I just wouldn't land. I don't know if this makes it a lucid dream? |

When you're having a lucid dream, you feel like you're awake and aware of yourself and your surroundings, but you're really still asleep. Basically, your consciousness wakes up, but the rest of your brain doesn't, and the dream world becomes the real world. You'll know such a dream when you experience it--it'll be radically different from any other dream you've had.

Well, it's a long time since I had that dream now, but.. thinking about it, I think it was lucid. It was atleast semi-lucid, if there's anything like that. I don't think I've had any other (possibly) lucid dreams than that, though. I've had a couple of prophetic dreams though, and the feeling when they come true could be enough to knock anyone out. |

Yes I had lucid dreams, yes I mostly spend them on sex/yiff. (sometimes humans, sometimes furries) And always, I wake up after 30 seconds. Sex is a risky thing with lucid dreaming, you wake up if you get too excited. Like how you wake up from nightmares. :/ I have gonna try to fly next time I have one instead. |

I usually get those after intense RPG playing. The dreams are always about an RPG, but it seems real life. However, my mom ALWAYS wake me up when it's becoming interesting. And there's sex involved in the dreams of course (RPG and Sex, you can't go wrong with this)

I haven't had very many Lucid Dreams where I actually control what I do, although like that link Nebetsu posted says, most of 'em I get are ones where I know I'm dreaming, but I usually don't try to do anything, or I end up forcing myself to wake up for some reason Here's one that I can remember that fits into the first category: First off, I can rarely ever remember how they started, just so you know that I was walking along some sidewalk, with a field to my right, and a street to my left, and I had a thought that it'd be alot quicker to fly I jumped up into the air, and I noticed I was floating, so I kept jumping up higher and higher I got up quite a ways, wondered how I was going to get down. I realized I was falling, so I tried to get over above the field, but a few seconds after I found that wasn't going to work, I woke up I can't remember very many that fit into the second category, but I remember how they end. Usually the main part of the dream is focused on something I don't like. For example, I'm claustrophobic, and as such, I don't like riding in elevators. A dream revolving around that could be; I have no choice but to get in one, so I do so, and as it's going, it stops in between floors for whatever reason. Then, like what happens with other dreams I don't like, I realize what's happening, and that I'm actually dreaming, and I force myself to wake up Funny thing is, people say that dreams usually aren't that easy to remember, but when something like what I just said happens to me, I remember quite clearly what the dream was about This isn't really related to Lucid Dreams, but I hate when I'm dreaming and try to talk to someone in the dream, and I end up waking myself up Most of the time when that happens, I'm actually having a really good sleep too. |

I heard somewhere a while back that you dream EVERY night but you usually dont remember most of them I have had 2 recurring dreams since I was a little kid: 1. I had walked down my stairs (from upstairs to downstairs) and then down the hallway which was right beside the stairs (for some reason the stairs and hallway take on the form of the house I am currently in). Then a witch like being stands at the top of the stairs and curls her fingers back as if to say come here. Then I try and yell to my parents who are sitting in the living room but I notice that I can't speak or move (well, I can move but only in one spot). The witch had taken my voice. After that I wake up . 2. I am in my room in my bed. I am staring at the ceiling. My family is awake downstairs and the light from the hallway is coming in from my doorway. Then the door slams shut and the ceiling rises. It doesn't stop. I get out of bed and try to open the door. It doesn't open and once again, I can't speak or yell for help. Then a blueish-white deamon figure appears. I think stuff happens after that but I can't remember So its pretty odd. I have had Lucid dreams, but none that I can say here |

Originally posted by Keikonium I can be sure I've gone to sleep one or two nights and not dreamed at all. Maybe I'm wrong, but it really seemed like it. I went to sleep at 10 or whatever, and it seems like not even 2 minutes later, I'd wake up and it'd be 11 or 12 in the morning Like you said in your two descriptions, Keikonium, I've had dreams where I've tried to yell, and I couldn't. Maybe it's a good thing 'cause my Dad's bedroom is connected to mine (he has to go through my room to get to his), and I'd probably wake him up if I were to yell or scream Similarly, I've had times where I tried to move in my dream, but I found I couldn't. The one I remember right now is this: I was outside, standing on the train tracks at the railway crossing out by our city's cemetery (that's weird enough right there ), and I looked over and saw a train coming toward me. I tried to move my feet, and to jump out of the way, but I couldn't I assume that's 'cause of the way I was laying in my bed though. Just as the train was about to hit me, I woke up (edited by Karadur on 11-21-04 09:44 PM) |

I don't know if this is normal or whatever... but I have lucid dreams all the time. I had one just last night, a little bit creepy though... especially since I wasn't in it. Someone was just walking around, someone covered in a cloak. I could feel everything around them, but I couldn't quite tell what they were thinking. So they kept walking and a mugger jumped out of some random alley and the cloaked person looked at the mugger, and the mugger died. Anyways the person kept moving, and here is where it became creepy... Another person was standing in front of the cloaked person, also cloaked, and I could feel everything about this person to, but still couldn't tell what this person was thinking. They fought each other and killed each other, and then I realized I did have a body, but I was a spirit so I could do what ever I wanted. But when they died... I think I felt death and it was really wierd. |

Nebetsu, mind if I ask how you achieved Lucid dreaming? I've been trying for a few days now with no result, I'm even keeping a dream journal. It's mostly incomplete but it has some stuff in it. (Last night I was cruisin' on a GTAA Sanchez , too bad the dream wasn't lucid )
