There is that slim chance, that one kid gets drafted on some lame team at 18, and just dominates until he's 45. But that probably won't happen.

last year the only picture to throw more than 120 pitches in a game...i don't think so... i know there were some CGs done by pitchers who threw more than 120 pitches...if only i had the site that has documentation about every single came for the 25 years. I think drjayphd knows that site... one more thing, the thread title is outdate, the rays lost 2-1 in extra innings, so their 12 game win streak is over... |

Actually, I could see a pitcher breaking Cy Young's 511-win record. Imagine that in the future, managers go to an "in-game rotation" where one guy pitches the frist two innings every game, and then another guy pitches the 3rd and 4th, etc. Then the same guy might be getting the win every day on a really good team. Radbourn's 60 wins in a season would fall too. But the 51-minute game is something I think will never be broken. Also, Deacon White's 671 innings (?) in a season. And Cy Younfg's record for complete games -- that's untouchable. Young benefited from being able to pitch dozens of complete games in a 3-man rotation in the early 1890s, and then just when he would've burned his arm out, his teams switched to a modern 4-man rotation, making it easier on his arm. I don't think any team will finish a season without hitting a homer, like Chicago did in 1879. ('77?) And Eddie Gaedel's record for "shortest player"! |

Youngest player will never be broken either... hmm...there are also values that will never be reached: 0 any category with zero from the person playing enough games to be considered. anyways, getting back on track: anyone think the city of chicago can bag both division titles? |

OK then, Neotransotaku, just who is the youngest player? And don't go mentioning Joe Nuxhall. His "record" was retroactively broken. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chicago get both division titles. After all, with the Cubs having basically locked up the next ten NL Central championships, the Sox only have to pull it off once in this interval! |

Welp... Freddy Garcia's made his way to a two-team town. And he's sticking with the AL. Yeah, the White Sox sent Miguel Olivo, Jeremy Reed, and some other guy to Seattle for Garcia and Ben Davis. (It'd be more of a if it was the Yankees... who'd YOU think I was talking about?) |

I saw that on the ticker of the Mets / Yanks game. Garcia just has to pitch good, not stellar, and it'll give the Sox a boost. |

Stupid White Sox... couldn't they have made that trade three hours eariler, so that Olivo wouldn't have been around to beat the Cubs in the afternoon game!?

Originally posted by Heian-794 Nah. I mean, didn't the White Sox only trust Olivo to catch two of their pitchers? Problems with his game-calling. So Beltran's been traded (although if the Astros fall out of contention, he may be traded again), Garcia's been shipped off... who's next? We can basically assume that Jamie Moyer's probably gonna go to the Yankees (he can still sort of bring it, even at 147 years young)... what else? |

Bah, what's wrong with Seattle anyways? They are underachieving off the wazoo. And speaking of underachieving, how about those Red Sox, eh? How many men will they leave on base next game? (Tip, try adding your age to your parents combined age.) |

I find it hilarious, actually. In April, people up at Franklin Pierce College (Where I go) were all "OMG YANKEES R GAY SOXXX ARE SO MUCH BETTER" when the Sox swept the Yankees...(NOTE: the rivaliry between Red Sox fans and Yankees fans there is strong enough that the college left a message after Game one of last year's ALCS saying basically "Please don't riot after the games.") ...funny how two months later things are back to their normal hierarchy. And I'm actually pulling for the Texas Rangers this season, just because it would make A-Rod feel like a complete jackass if they won everything, particularly with his "I'm at the point in my career where I want to win championships" comment before the start of the season. |

Well, Beltran just jacked to beat the Cubs yesterday, and today he hit another bomb to tie the score. The Astros can trade him any time they like.

can you say "wtd?" I could if I knew what WTD stood for... "what the devil?" Beltran homers on Mercker's first pitch to tie it, and then in the bottom of the 10th, Sammy takes Lidge's first pitch out of the yard to permanently untie it! Cubs win! |

What the duck. And how about that all-star game, huh? Looks like it'll be a good one this year. |

One player from each team has to be on there, right? *fears for the Expos chances* |

yeah, I believe that is the rule that every team has some representative involved in the field game. I really do not know of any all start game that doesn't have such a thing...

No, I don' think so anymore. If so...I pity them...who do they have? Wilkerson? Is Vidro even on that team anymore? |

Yes, actually, he is. Just re-upped for four more years, I believe. They're working on Orlando Cabrera, too, but I think he wants to know where they'll end up playing first. |
