Are there any ports of FF1 from the NES to the SNES? I know there is one for the wonderswan color but I need one for the snes. So if there is some 3rd party hack or whatever could you post a link, or pictures or something? Thnaks |

I did a quick search, on a rom site, it has a lot of hacks, in with normal roms, only found the original FF's like 2,3, mystic quest....so I dont think there is..unless its not on that site.

Well, for the Wonderswan, how much of a difference is it from the SNES? BTW, I also did a search and got pretty much the same thing. I just want to make a FF1 hack with 16 colour instead of 4. And the snes has more features than the NES. |

I found a little review of the ff1 on wonderswan, it basically explains some different things in it, along with other stuff, its here: http://www.planetnintendo.com/ff1/wscreview.shtml |

The Wonderswan edition really is beautiful, but the cell phone version comes close. My Docomo P900i phone comes with the game installed, and other (newer) Docomo phones can download the game. It's fun, but ever since I started playing old games on emulators, I've come to expect savestates as a God-given right, and of course this phone version doesn't offer them. One innovation offered by the phone and not the WS or NES is the ability to choose from two different fonts. One is your basic sans-serif and another one looks like handwriting. |

Yeah, you could stick FF1 backgrounds and graphics into a FF4/5/6-based hack with no problem. Maybe 4 would be your best bet, since it uses the same modes of transportation; would it be hard to hack a boat into FF6? But surely hacking all the events, characters, etc., etc. would be a huge hassle... if you just want to play a better-looking FF1, there's always the Playstation port. |

that would actually be pretty cool, to have a whole FF4 rom, turned into an expanded FF1 version..with more things added and such.

FFV or FFVI would probably be better for that. Why? They already have 4-person parties. Just like the original FF1. Don't get me wrong, I like the larger parties, but if you're going to make it FF1, you make it right. I don't know of one on the SNES, but they are remaking FF1 and FF2 on the GBA. |
