We all admit it. We're lazy bums. Every single one of us. The high amount of busy work required for activities like hacking doesn't help the situation either. So what do you like to do to make sure you get work done. Personally, I find no better way than to listen to my favorite music in the background. Replaying the game that I'm currently working on also helps as well, though it shouldn't be for too long or you'll get sick of it

I also seam to like to look up other hacks and play them to give me some more ideas. Though usualy I still get bored and go off and hack somthing else for a while..

Often the sheer craziness of the things I screw up is entertainment enough. But I like to listen to various kinds of Music to get me going. Of course, if your music is marginal or insufficient that will lower productivity because you'll always be playing with your playlist.

If I really wanted to increase productivity I'd move all my operations to a computer without the internet. i'd say 3/5 of my Romhacking time are spent chatting online with other people or browsing this board. While it's fun, I hardly get anything done.

Music helps, but really I just have to get in the mood to work on whatever project. It pretty much happens randomly.

if you want to get something done quickly music does not help (it's a lot harder to focus with music in the background) - but patience increases with music. (at least for me)

so it's pretty much the same result.

What do I do to make sure I get work done on my hacks?

I wait til summer. When school's over. Then I can actually finish projects long abandoned, such as the Kirby's Adventure hacking project I barely scraped (although there's plenty of data on that still, and if I can find my notes, I'll at least resume that segment of it, if not start decompressing the levels with Parayste's nice prg he made for me and then start messing with levels)...

Yea... I need to start that up again, but not at the expense of school grades.

Having enough time usually helps. I don't mind stopping to take breaks (that's when my ideas usually come), but too long away and it hurts production time. Also, cool music. Something from a video game, preferably.

I never finish my projects because I'm always getting side tracted by new games and finding data for things.
