| I think we should just let people use the URL they want. It's easier for people that share comp, like me and Sofie She has cookies on acmlm.org/board, I have cookies on board.acmlm.org. That way we don't need to login and logout all the time, we can just use different bookmarks. |

| yeah, most links on the board right now, only work with board.acmlm.org....like when it was down, I clicked on a link, and it took me to board.acmlm.org/somethread so it didnt work..and if someone uses acmlm.org/board and isnt logged in on the other, it will get annoying if you want to post, but have to login..everyone should just stick to 1 of them.. | |||

| My last version (1.92) ran fine from any URL, and it needs to stay that way (I wasn't exactly happy after a certain update when I saw acmlm.org/board give errors in function.php about /board/board) ... ||bass fixed it for now by hardcoding the file path, but what if you're going to distribute the updated version? acmlm.org, www.acmlm.org and board.acmlm.org all work fine here (at work), but board.acmlm.org got on and later off at home |

What you SHOULD do is simply set a cookie for the domain "acmlm.org" with the folder "/"; it'll work on every domain/subdomain (but then Jiz loses his ability to use both for different logins, and the acmlm.org//board trick is lost) Either way, there's no winner. People should use relative links (thread.php instead of ...acmlm.org/board/thread.php, etc) and online.php could probably use a better URL grabber (get the server, too, instead of just the end) I like using /board/ because it gives that old feel. Heh. |
