Well, here in Nova Scotia we just got hit with the first snow of the season for us. And, well to us it wasnt much even though we did have no power for the most part of the day I believe it was about 37cm or somewhere around there abouts. Nothing compared to the whiteout last year. This was weaksauce compared to that.

What im saying is, have you guys got that wonderful first snowfall yet. Or just dont enjyo winter at all. I enjoy it means more gaming time for me, less school. And more hockey.

37cm is a blizzard. I'm sorry.

Montreal is still cool. We had some snow last week but it was for a few minutes and it didn't stay on the ground... so it doesn't count.

Where I live, we got snow almost two weeks ago (!) and it's stayed on the ground since. It's been pretty cold out too.

Yeah, I watched the news, NS got hit pretty hard.

It never snows here except for maybe late at night on a freezing day for a few minutes. It snowed once a few years ago, like a half inch, and a bunch of schools closed down. Mine was not included. In fact, the people in charge at my school were trying to force everyone to not touch the snow.
wtf california.

Snow is one of the biggest things I miss about living in Nevada.

Wanna make a deal? I'm already ready to live in Cali right about now, and it hasn't even snowed yet.

I would also like to switch. Fuck lake effect. Although that won't get me here at college, it will when I go home for winter break.

I have seen snow! In Furside...

*sigh*

Snow is odd here, either we get none of it or just a flake here and there. Or we get too much of it so it causes traffic chaos.

*Cough* We've had snow here since early October, and this winter isn't unusually early or anything, it's pretty much like all other winters One of the advantages of living 500km above the arctic circle, I guess.

Please note how I didn't say every inch of land within the borders of Nevada get snow. Just has there are places in California that do get snow.
Why do I have to explain that, was anyone else unable to figure this out?

So... you're saying you've had snow since October...

Well, *we* certainly haven't... I mean, there was probably a few days of snow in October, (which melted quickly) but it really didn't come fully until this weekend.

Of course, I live further south than what you do, but I still live north of the polar circle...

*edit: Oh, and I think it's currently at about 10 cm, or something. Almost 1/4th of Nova Scotia.

Not perpetual snow, but on and off since October 8th (well, Tromsdalstinden had snow since August, it's only a few hundred meters above the city). It hasn't been any measly kind of snow, either, but the good kind of snow, all the way since October 8th.

So where may you live? Nordland? Harstad?

My hometown carries the great name of Sortland.

And I think it's been snow here for a couple of times. Although, I'm pretty sure it didn't stay longer than 36 hours... (definately not longer than 48.) And there are more times where it snowed, but the snow just melted straight away.

Heh, and I have celebrated Christmas before, without any snow.

And Christmas with more than 200 cm of snow...

Nope. We don't usually get our first snow until around December 15th or so. And our first snow that actually amounts to anything isn't until between Christmas Day and New Year's Day, usually.

Until then, we just have the cold temperatures.

Same here, but we had some that stayed for a day about a week ago. Which is odd given that it's Canada, but then it's pretty far south in Canada. (I try to avoid saying 'southern Canada', given what 'southern [anything]' implies... Though I guess if you head out to less populated areas, it's true. )

We 'supposedly' had one...but it was nothing more than a mix of rain with snow really, so it didn't stick to the ground. So we're stilling waiting for a true one here. When the land is white, then I'll call it first...but we're still getting decent temps for the time of year.

But, I bet it won't last through the end of this month, it's just a science really. White X-mas, though, is another story.
