I've been working with my hack for about 7 days now trying to insert a custom background I've been working with Hidden Mario and were bothtrying to figure out why my background turns out to be garbage and screws the whole damn rom afterwords, here is the steps I do on inserting the background:

1. Load rom in LM then insert blank ExGFX file add GFX file back to rom
2.open 16x16 tile editor press control insert load up the three files that pic2snes made which is KOOPA set, map, col
3. it loads the background and screws up the whole level as well as the rest of the rom.

so after I did this I have screwed up rom that I have to replace.
but though when I was in 16x16 I scrolled through the tiles and I found my background but it was solarized and sort like TV specs garbage over it is there anyway I can fix this problem ? also I have tried gif2snes but that doesn't do jack....

The tile count is most likely too high. Try a smaller picture.
