A person wants to get a fox, goose, and grain across a river. He can only carry one thing at a time. The fox will eat the goose, and the goose will eat the grain. But he is able to take stuff back and forth across the river. How does he get each thing across safely? The answer tomorrow. (edited by Ringodoggie on 11-13-04 07:22 PM) |

If I'm not mistaken... Take the goose across and return to the shore. Take the grain across, put the goose back in the boat and return. Return the goose to the original shore, take the fox across, and return. Take the goose across again. Or, in a diagram: (F=fox, G=goose, R=grain) FGR|-----| FR |-----|G F |-G--|R G |-----|FR |------|FGR |

http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?id=6248 Heh, that's my riddle number three. It doesn't matter now though, that one's old on my thread. Just wanted to point out that it was there too. Post another riddle so I can guess! |
