Well, a while back a created this thread:

http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?id=5099

I thankyou all for trying to cheer me up.

Well, now my nan has actually died. She died of a stroke; we were in hospital with her for 3 days, then we left to get a sandwich, and she passed away while we were gone.

The funeral was SO FUCKING SAD. I was in tears over it.

Me and her were so close, perhaps closer so than my parents. This, combined with my girlfriend dumping me (A realtionship for 3 years) and my best friend becoming a worst enemy; has left me slightly suicidal... I posted this here so maybe you can help to deal with the stress...

If you must know why this happened; my best friend was trying to 'flirt' with my girlfriend (Morgan). So, I argued with him, we had a fight (serious one) and I won. So whom do you think my girlfriend runs crying too? My best friend? Bingo. So it kind of went from there. My friend asked Morgan out, and she was hesitant, but dumped me and said yes. I know your going to say how someone like this isnt worth dating... but I really loved her. Then, today, I met a new girl up the town (Michelle). We didnt go out, but decided to be friends. I invited her down to my road, and Morgan shouts abuse at ME and then Michelle is like 'Hey I didnt know you had a girlfriend' and she walks off. WTF?

Then my best friend showed up, laughed in my face for losing her, and took the piss out of me for not having a nan. So here I am, at the peak of suicide.

Please help me out. Give me something to do that wont depress me even further. Please.

Wow that's sad to hear.

Well I can be your friend if you ever wanted to talk to me about anything I'll surely listen and help out the best that I can. Besides all funerals are sad, no matter what, and it is even worse sitting up in front. I've been to like four funerals: three family members and one was a friend. I can say that if you keep your memories with you then it's not that bad to cope with. It can bring sadness back but you'll always remember the people you love when you had fun together or all the conversatiosn you had

About your girlfriend and best friend turning on you. I can say just let them go but it's not that easy for some people. I would say you should try to talk to Michelle again and explain to her that she wasn't your girlfriend. Umm... other than that I don't know what to tell you exactly.

You've taken a good first step. Telling us instead of holding it all up inside.

Like Dark Vampriel said, funerals are always sad. Even if it's someone that you hated with the whole of yourself. I've been to two so far. One for my Grandma, and one for my friend's Grandma.

The first one wasn't nearly as sad as the second, mainly 'cause I was still trying to come to grips with what exactly happened. The second one was more sad though. It's the first time in my life I've actually seen my friend openly cry about something.

This might sound cold, so I'm sorry if it does. You should think about how things went. They probably could've been much worse, like your Nan being in some hospital really far away, or not even being in the hospital when she died. What would've been worse. To be there when she finally passed away, or like what happened to you, to be out doing something else?

Even in death, there's things to be glad for, like your Nan not suffering anymore.

As far as your girlfriend and best friend, there's always going to be people you meet that eventually turn out to be asses, and you've unfortunately run into that at a particularly bad time. It's best to just not think about what happened right now. When it comes to Michelle, if you're able to, explain to her exactly what happened. The worst that can happen is that she'll still be mad at you, but at least you'd have told her the truth.

Finally, about being on the peak of suicide. You may not realize it, but how many people do you think would be hurt if you were to kill yourself? I've just had a bad final experience with someone I cared about and considered a friend today, and as much as he may think he won't hurt me by what he's done, it does, but I'm doing my best to get through it, and I think you should too.

If you're looking for something to do, talk with a family member or a friend about the fun you had with your Nan. It may hurt at first, but once you realize that she's not completely gone from you, it'll make you feel better. It's like at the beginning of Tales of Symphonia, where Genis ends up having a hand in killing Marble. He can't believe what's happened at first, but then he realizes he has a keepsake of hers (in this case, her Exsphere).

Find something of your Nan's that you can always hang on to. It may just help when you aren't expecting it.

Karadur has some pretty good points to what he has said.

Sometimes I like to think what would happen if I did die and how that would effect others. I know a lot of friends and family will be crushed that I'm gone but will always remember me in someway or another. Also, since I'm in a long distance relationship with a guy who loves me and I love him. I can't bear to think on how he would react if he found out that I died.

See I think about that kind of thing without any suicide being involved. I think people should take time out to think about that kind of thing.

Bluntly put, shit happens.

Suicide is a horrible decision, IMO. I mean, think about it... (this may sound "silly", but).

Do you like chocolate?

I like chocolate.

I feel great when I eat it, it tastes so good.

If you were gone, you wouldn't be able to eat chocolate anymore.

That's a crappy 2 second analogy for the good things in life you should stay for.

Crappy, but true. Suicide is like telling the world that you're giving up, and you NEVER GIVE UP. Although your story may seem hopeless, think about all the people that love you.
The time after a funeral is probably the best time to connect with loved ones. I speak from experience; I had to get through the hardest time of my life about a year ago when my cousin was killed. He was like a brother to me, and I got through it will the love and support of my family.

I thankyou all. I cant believe how easily I got over this, but youve made me realize that suicide is giving up and in a way being selfish. Im also hurting those who love me.

Though still sad, not suicidal. Im going to go play mario to cheer me up

good

suicide is the coward's way out i believe, because you are only passing your pain on to others...which is wrong and doesn't make any sense. the next time you are depressed, just remember that things will get better and it is not the end of what seems like it is the end

It's always hard to take that first step. Lay back, play Mario, and know that you can spare your family another burden.

YAY! That's good to hear that you're better. Also, I don't think it would have been fun to tie someone up to a tree but it would be hilarious to see that happen to them though. I'd feel sorry but still be laughing though.

Besides, how can no one notice that someone's tied up to a tree?

Yeah we did plan it.... anything to get back at that fat squeler!
We decided to play games in ICT.. and he told off me and my friends! So, yeah, we pretended to show him a 'hedgehog', took him out to the plains, and tied him to a tree! Good times
