Now this is one **** issue! I can't install anything which uses "windows installer". Specifically, the programs I've tried are Macromedia Coldfusion MX, Tribes Vengeance SP demo, and Far Cry demo 2. I recently cleaned out *most* of my XP SP2 system restore points since they took over 20GB. Reinstalling windows isn't an option, it will say I have a newer version than what's on the XP disc. The install service is on too. Any windows installer programs will do one of 2 things. 1- Load 100% of the files, then quit. 2- Attempt to start loading files, get to 100%, and quit. Both of these give the message of "The wizard was interrupted before (name) could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again." Funny thing is, InstallShield Wizard programs that do NOT use windows installer run great. That includes the rest of macromedia studio mx. The installshield website doesn't have information this message. |

Well, the only thing I can think of two things. First, a question: Did these programs work with XP for you before? If they didn't, you could try creating a shortcut to the install file on the CD, and use the shortcut to run the install in compatibility mode. I dunno if that'll do anything else, but it's the only thing I can think of |
