Does anyone have a full list of things I can and cannot do with an overlay on my main hardrive? I have an overlay on it because it's a 60gig harddrive and my motherboard would only go up to 30gigs. I know that overlays cause problems (ex partitions), so I need to know if I will be able to install a second 6 gig drive for backup purposes without blowing up everything. | |||

I have a drive overlay on my older computer, and I can honestly say I've never had any problems with it. I think they use a negligible amount of system resources, and are pretty safe. Adding a smaller secondary drive shouldn't cause any problems, as the overlay only deals with the over-capacity drive(s). |
