| well, i've been lurking ever since the database went under and the board was reborn (actaully, i did make a few posts right before the board collapsed, but none afterwards.), so i'm not really new to how things work here. and i'd still be lurking if i hadn't posted a bit to another message board, then came here and posted something in the brain teasers forum like it was nothing, then remembered "wait, i don't post at this one!". so yeah, i guess i do post at this one now, so i'd better do a newbie thread 'fore i forget. i hope my layout and avatars don't suck too bad for y'all. you can see the layout right here, but you'll have to refresh the page to see all 10 of my avatars (it's randomly picked from a set each time the page loads, unless you have javascript off that is) (also, do you have little respect for people who rarely use capitalization? 'cause that's me in a nutshell........never learned proper use of the shift key....sorry) |

yes, or mostly likely you won't be seeing me again for yet another half year.  anyway, thanks, as for the avatar problem, i don't think they or many of my javascripts work in firefox (i've heard complaints that some won't work with it in another message board). that's why i like IE, it lets in some things that firefox restricts, and if those things happen to be viruses, my new virus scanner will catch it. and it's easy to use, and it's the standard for browsers, i could go on. *waits to be jumped on by several firefox fans* |

| well, there's the W3C standards and then there's microsoft-set standards. just the fact that the majority of PC users use IE makes it the standard browser. is that standard good? that's questionable. but you say it's "unable to properly interpret a lot of standard html"? i have not seen much difference at all between firefox's and IE's page rendering, except that firefox blocks certain javascripts at one message board. go ahead, show me some pages that IE messes up severely! as for the bugs, i have windows update which gives IE patches on a regular basis. but i do wonder why microsoft made IE so unstable that a new security hole is found every other week... |

| Well anyway, welcome. What is sort of wierd is that your username has the red color of a powerlevel 4, and in your profile, the link to the color chart is replaced by your name, and it's the color of a powerlevel 3.  |

yep, it only took 7 posts for the staff to recognize that i was admin material!  no, i just like the red color, i'm not on the staff. my name's still blue everywhere else. let me fix the color chart link though.
