*roar!* I feel pretty stupid with v0.10d, anyway, Jade was updated to v0.10d. Here are the details:

  • The trick was on you! Errr, yeah, that's it... Safe to say I rushed v.10 when I said I wouldn't rush any releases anymore. Ugh, sorry everyone.

  • Monster Editor: Some stats weren't looking past the 256 KB portion of the rom even if the combo cart was loaded. That has been fixed.

  • Spells Editor: Added the palette number next to the palette, so you don't have to click on "change palette" just to know what palette you are looking at.

  • Text Editor: CROcOp found an error with saving, and it is fixed. You can safely edit the Miscellaneous now. But...BUT...I haven't touched dialogue, so that's still off limits, well, to the best of your self control.

  • Weapon Editor: Palette changing didn't work, I forgot to add that to the saving routine... Oops?

  • Added the palette number next to the palette, the same as the Spells Editor.

I'll go hide now...

I dunno if you've found this data, but I discovered the data for the people that populate the map. At $353D, you have the data for the guy who says "This is Altea's rebel base". It's three bytes. The first byte controls the person who appears, I believe. The latter two bytes I haven't completely worked out, but the lower nibble of each byte controls the X/Y co-ordinates. The nibbles also control movement, and what screen the character appears on. (Oh yeah, this is for the Demiforce translation, because I don't know if there's any data differences)

Whoa, no I have not found this yet. Is this a ram or rom address?

Hmm, 4 bits controlling each coord? Seems kind of limited...

I'm starting to notice some variation, but not in details such as this. Just tonight I found out the Prologue isn't in the same spot for v.93, v1.0, and v1.03 of Demi's translation. It's in a different spot as well for the Prototype...fun! Thankfully, pointers have not been in different locations.

On a side note...

The nibbles also control movement

I'm guessing that walking speed is a part of what you mentioned. If it isn't, that'll have to be taken into consideration as well. Gotta keep an eye on palettes as well, but that might be in the map data.

Thanks for the info, I'll test this out tomorrow.

$353D is the ROM address. The data is stored at $7500 in RAM though, but it's $10 bytes wide in RAM.
