Not that I don't. No no. But lately I've just been scratching myself and pressing needles (no no, regular needles. you know like those without holes through them) deep into my arm just to check out how it feels. I also wish to be shot in the leg sometime. Just to know... I mean, that's not normal is it? I'm not depressed or angry at myself or anything. It's just boredom or something.

I haven't got that problem (hurting myself due to borendom). When I'm bored (in school), I usually draw something random, thinks of an easy trigonometry problem and asks somebody else to solve it. (I'm the only one in my class who even knows what trigonometry is... Exept for one or two, but they can't use it...). Sometimes, I fetch my Scientific Calculator and either draws some random graph or programs some semi-useless program. Sometimes I tries to read a book...

So Kieran should start studying Trigonometry? Sure, give him a compass *stab*, a pencil *stab*, an eraser *ouch, indian rub* and a good protractor *slice and dice* and I'm sure he won't even think about inflicting pain upon himself. Don't forget the mini-cannon, that way he can find out what it feels like to get shot in the leg *leg is pulverized* and learn about trajectories at the same time!

So yeah Kieran I get a little curious about stuff like that, but when I start thinking about how much it would hurt, I quickly realize, hey, I'd rather it not happen.

Well, that depends on what kind of pain your talking about.

Everyone feels pain but some people can block their feelings in a weird way, I think...

The physical pain. Like when I punch you in the face or something.

Well, once you wear out your nerves somehow you won't feel anything no matter how many times you stab yourself.

Then again, I'm not the type of guy who tries to see how much pain he can take.

There's physical pain you can get used to.
But no. You're not normal. You're a very weird kid.

You can get addicted to physical pain even.

You know how people get addicted to chilli? Same thing. Chilli affects your pain receptors, so essentially it's causing pain... but people not only get used to it, but they get addicted to it.

People who like chilli actually get higher pain thresholds too.

I'm guessing all pain is like that to some extent, but Chilli is one of the things that is most commonly noticed.... I'm guessing because it's socially acceptable to subject yourself to chilli, wheras it's not socially acceptable to play slice-and-dice with yourself.

And I met a guy on the train this year who can't feel anything at all. No pain, no cold, no heat, no nothing. Said it's kinda cool, somebody accidentally dropped a hammer off his roof onto his head once, he didn't feel a thing....

Weird.
In elementary school, I tended to start playing around with others' pencils when I was bored, which quickly brought me upon some trouble with a school gang but well, that was never my aim.
Nowadays, I often start drawing random stuff... that started happening to me after I decided to learn to draw anthro/anime style stuff
@Smallh4xx0r, spherical or "plain" trigonometry?

*looks at the thread title and shudders as he sees the discussion having become so much offtopic* ...no, to be honest... that is not normal. Please don't feel insulted if I call you the weirdest board member we have.

Not feeling any pain can be a bad thing, imagine if something goes into your foot without you noticing it? And if there is a infection...

There have actually happened nasty cases with people not feeling anything hurting themself without noticing.

Yeah there are some games that are out which cause a small electrical shock. They showed them not too long ago on The Screensavers. Also, sometimes I laugh while I'm hurt.

I laugh when I am in pain all the time. It is wierd, if I get put into a submission hold I will start laughing like a phyco (maybe because I am one) and I just laugh. Except when the pain is a little to much and then it just hurts like hell!

Anyways I would hate to not be able and feel pain, pain is fun and a distant friend/greatest enemy to all.
