The Lakers won't quite be a contender, anymore, but still a playoff team. Eastern Conference Finals at the very best. I'm more excited about my Bobcats, though they're problably gonna suck terribly this year, just as any expansion team would their first few years in the league. |

Yup, lord knows the Lakers could really do well in the Eastern Conference finals. I think Toronto's going to make the playoffs this year actually... not a great team but the division itself is pretty bad. |

How about those Celts, eh? Gary "Problems Child" Payton, whom I at one point was a good guy and a role model of sorts, (not mine, but for other people), actually played in the games so far. The NBA attitude just pisses me off. I'm turning into my Grandpa, and only watch NCAA. |

I dunno how the season's already here but every frigging channel in Canada's going to talk about the Raptors now - I don't *hate* the Raptors but with no NHL... we're screwed aside from weekends with football. And when that ends...

How are the Raps looking this year? I haven't really followed any team really. Have they improved? |

Okay, so maybe the 'Cats aren't doing quite as bad as I first thought. They beat the Magic yesterday night in Charlotte, whom so far, have been having a good season... McGrady for Francis seems to be working fine for them. Not to call it a "turnaround" debut, but many expansion teams have made them look like NBA finalists in theirs. Maybe they won't be all that bad first year in the league. |

The Raptors are 3-0. In other news, the Eastern Conference is weak as hell. |

Originally posted by Colleen That is news? It seems that has been a fact for the last few years. Anyways, what do people think about Artest asking for time off to promote his rap album while paid? Also, the Kings don't seem so grand anymore... and how much lower can the warriors go? |

Hah, but for how long? Remember last year? Tmac and him were going to win the East, then he got injured (again).

oooooh basketball.... haven't been paying attention... but it is nice to see the lakers broken up a bit... I didn't know Kobe had stayed in LA though.... should be nice to see if he can carry the lakers this year without Shaq.... see if he's actually as good as people think he is |

The NBA season is shaping up to be a mixture of emotions fo rme. The Houston Rockets are indifferent. Indifferent in the way of they can't decide whether they want to win games or simply lose them just for the hell off it. The East is in shambles. Just when you think you can root for a team, they lose. The Magic start out good and are still good. Boston and the Toronto are doing good. WTF? The West, well it's the west. Seattle is killing teams. Utah is off to a good start while Denver is fading. How about the Hornets? And the Kings? They are 4-4, the same as the Shaq-less Lakers? How can that be possible. Oh ands back to the topic of the Rockets. How in the bloody hell can you have T-Mac on a team with a 2nd scoring option (Yao) and lose so much? Man, at least the season is just starting and not ending or else the vein on my arm would have popped to see the Rockets lose and not make the finals. |

Kings doing good..yay. Cept for them losing their first 4 games but they came back with 3 wins in a row. Haven't been paying much attention to the lakers. Sun's doing well thanks to Steve Nash..well that's what I think. At first I didn't even know Dallas traded him . Supersonics doing it big, never expected that either

*frantically searches for video of tonight's... incident* Maybe you can scratch out that word and replace it with "riot". Sounds like there was some CRAZY stuff going on at the end of the Indiana/Detroit game. Wonder how Mr. Stern will like having to deal with Ron Artest again. |

Originally posted by Colleen The only problem with that is, it's NOT his fault. Go figure.... This falls on the shoulders of the Pistons fans/people of Detroit. Don't believe me? The fight was settled before the fans got involved. PLUS! The fans did nothing to try and stop it, they kept adding to the problem. Not the Pacers fault, not the Pistons fault. It's the fans. Yay chair, are we in the Oakland Colliseum? If you have access to ESPNews, I suggest you turn it on. Otherwise, wait til SportsCenter, or something... (edited by Lenophis on 11-20-04 12:28 AM) |
