We listen to the radio at work to keep our sanity, but I swear, if I ever hear another car commercial, I'm going to kill someone. They're unoriginal and the people in the ad, well, they love to scream and it's so annoying. This is the worse type of commerical for me to hear, what about you?

When they talk fast, sometimes I have problems hearing what they are saying...

Usually, bad commercials = bad for the company. I don't buy products from annoying commercials...

I don't buy things based on any ads, actually. If I need something, I'll just go and get it when I need it.

What I hate about radio commercials is:
- They always play about 10 in a row.
- All the stations play their commercials at the same time.

Radio commercials stink. They always seem to be linked somehow in buying a car. I mean, the people can be talking about sandwiches and it turns out to be a car commercial. Makes me mad!

Car dealers have too many sales. It seems to me that they are just saying the normal price but tricking you to thinking it is cheaper.

I was just talking to my dad about this.

Some commercials are just TERRIBLE.

Hahah, I can still hear my dad

Yeah, that's one reason why I prefer Internet radio stations...they usually have less commercials, and not several in a row, and they play a greater variety of music...the best stations have a skip feature so I don't have to hear sucky songs like "I'VE BECOME SO NUMB". Too bad I get a lot of skipping because of my dialup connection...

Most actual radio stations' playlists are affected drastically by payola, which is why mostly unknown artists like Uncle Kracker and Daniel Bedingfield get top ten radio hits. And they're way too localized...I can just barely get Detroit radio stations where I live, and they're always playing their dumb local artists.

End of rant.

And this is why I only listen to my CDs when I can. Once I get my new car, I won't have to listen to the radio anymore (old car still has the factory radio in it...from 1990. Was my dad's until 1999).

And you're absolutely sure about that?

Even if you think that you aren't affected by commercials you may still be so, even if you don't buy stuff you don't need. You may still be affected when it comes to what kind of brand of the thing you need, that you're buying. I'm not saying that you are being affected by commercials, because you might not be so aswell, of course.

I think that people buy the brands they do, because:

1) They saw a commercial for that brand, which they liked. (Or a friend, which they trust said it was very good, and recommended it)
2) They have good experiences with the brand
3) Or it's the cheapest one

*edit: I know this might be a little off topic, but I just wanted to comment on that anyway..

I don't really listen much to the radio.. and commercials on the tv rarely annoys that much anyway.

I don't rembember the latest time I bought anything from an commercial. But then I mostly buy games and stuff, and I always look into an review before buying.

The commercials that are really obnoxious are the ones that play twice in a few minutes. I've heard the same commercial played 14 times (we were counting) in one hour. There aren't even that many commercial breaks in the regular broadcast hour.

Or McDonalds. Ugh! I am so not lovin' it. Playing commercials back-to-back is absurd.

You have a point, Weasel. McDonalds puts too many commercials with the same song OVER and OVER again. And their motto: "I'm lovin' it!" I now can't say that anymore. It is a "Registered Trademark" or something like that.

These people who make commercials need to learn: for the best commercial, make it funny and rare to see. Or just flat out say "Buy our stuff."

The worst radio commercial was for condoms. I don't want to hear an arguement between a couple over their sex.

Then I hate the ones that yell at you! GET THIS NOW!!!

In the car, I end up hearing commericials about car tires, the tires on my family's cars are fine thank you very much , but if some people can learn to advertise less often then they should, then advertising wouldn't be as big as a problem as it is now, that's my point.
