I'm just asking for flames, aren't I? I just heard an interview with... someone from National Public Radio and Michael Moore, about his work, the election, etc. I found it quite good; he explained how he wishes more people made movies like he has ("no matter what side they're on..."). Moore touched with the issue of the half dozen anti-Fahrenheit 9/11 movies, claiming he was flattered by them. Was I the only one who heard this? |

No, I didn't see the interview, but I like Moore. I like that he is encouraging people to make films too, and encouraging people to think about issues -- like he said, regardless of which side of the fence they're on. While a lot of people don't like Moore, I think what he does is great -- love him or hate him, he forces you to think about things. |

Originally posted by windwaker No. Anyone else who was listening to NPR at the time heard it Anyway, on the subject of the half-dozen anti-F9/11 movies... look at how quickly they were released. At least Fahrenheit 9/11, although I think it focused way too much on some pretty obscure issues and not enough on the big picture (however, I would say there was some good evidence by him in the movie, and I agreed with him pretty much), had some time put into it, making it a very good movie to watch. The response movies were scrapped together instantly because... well, they needed a quick response. Therefore, those movies lacked the quality that F9/11 had, even if they did have good points (though I didn't pay enough attention to them to find out if they had any). Good to hear him say that he wishes people would do what he does... it probably gives him more material to lambash and disprove. |

They are reactionary Conservative films designed to sow seeds of right winged thought... Just like what Micheal Moore's films do with the left wing. Albeit his was done on a larger budget, with more time...And at least he had a good team of researchers behind him dwelling on more than just Vietnam War era service records. I've seen/read interviews with Moore, and I'm not exactly a fan of his overly unorthodox ways of doing business in politics. I guess you could say that I hate him. He is an unprofessional documentor of the current left wing and an amateur politician at best. He doesn't adhere to any conventions in the process of being politician (somewhat of an unwritten rulebook, a pity that politicians are starting to come out of these rules). I just think that he is a bastion for moronic trend thinking, his movies get hyped up on MTV and other venues, and that disseminates his thought to the overly impressionable youth who take it has a sign to begin somesort of revolution. They cling to their concepts of anarchy and rebellion, twisting Moore's views into something completely annoying to people who are trying to moderate the left-wing movement into something stable and pallatable to the common worker of the 21st century. Ah, how the times have changed because of that man... |

See, I like him, but I see him from the perspective of somebody in Australia too. It would be nice to have somebody here in Australia that would force people to question some of the things our government did... instead, we're mindless sheep that go along with just about everything -- as our stupid elections just proved. Dude... it's his unorthadox ways of doing things that really -are- what people like about him, that gets the message across. The anti-Moore movies really sucked. I watched a few (to be fair), like Fahrenhype 9/11. In Fahrenheit 9/11, a minute was devoted to the class Bush was in when the terrorist attacks commenced. In Fahrenhype 9/11, FIFTEEN MINUTES were devoted to this. These movies really weren't well done =/. |

Of course not...they saw how much people liked Farenheight 9/11, and decided that if they made a movie only from their opinion it would do just as good and they would make money... | |||

I can't say I 100% love what Moore does, but, hey, at least he does something. I really hate conservatism, and what now happens in the US is worse than Saddam, Kim Sung-Il and Ali Chamenei together. At least that's what me left-oriented school newspaper journalist, layouter and hardcore paparazzi thinks 'bout that. |
