| Well, it's National Novel Writing Month again... nearly. I was just wondering, who here on the forum is likely to be participating in this year's nanowrimo? I'm... considering it, but only half.. I doubt I'll get the time to do something like this, and I certainly can't think of a plot, so I'd likely just write an autobiography. Anybody going to be participating? | Rrrrrr...doubful. For me at least. I only do it on the side in my free-time...the people that'll do well in something like this are people that are probably extremely ambitious about pursuing this as a career... Even if I pulled a whole plot and story (which I have done outlined...somehow...we almost got it done on the board last time)...I dunno...that'd be a lot on me personally. Another person in my group however....... |

| It's not so much a contest, it's also a... motivational tool. It's for all those people that have ever thought that they'd maybe write something one day... this is kinda to get them to actually write something..... they acknowledge that anything written in that time is likely to be crap, but... still, at least then people have written something, and it's a lot easier to fix up the crap than it is to fix up something you haven't even written at all... |

Uhm.. is it just me, or are novels the less-than-100-pages-long stories? (At least that's what I remember about the Swedish word Novell  , longer than 100 pages is Roman.. of course, I haven't checked on the English words for those two, they just might be screwed up ;P). |

| Novel = 100+ words Novella = >100 words I've got a plot that I'd like to write a novel about, but me and a group of my friends are turning it into a sequential art novel. I just think that sequential art would better suit the story. I've also got a whole shit load of stories that I'd like to transfer to novels...But with essays and tests and such...I doubt I'd be able to do it. |

| Oh 50,000... Hmm... Actually Colleen, I'm pretty sure you've done that in that one SF total. The Word DOC that we had on Anya's at least...that screamed to about 400 pages. Course that was several of us at once. And my max is around 6000 in one sitting (no bullshit, turned out to be about 15 pages). |

| Hmm. I had an idea actually, and I'm wondering what people think. I wrote a 4 page short story for english class, entitled Diaries of a Little League Superstar, and I liked the title the best, but that's ok. It's modeled after my experiences as an umpire, coaching in the Babe Ruth Little League of Coventry, RI. I can't remember if I posted it, so if anyone wants to tell me if it's decent or just a nugget... DOALLS I mean, I have that on paper, obviously, but I'm just going to take ideas from that, and implement then, ergo, the characters for the most part will be there, the title, but I intened to re-write everything to do with the plot.
