How does Real Player work? I'm sitting here, and I downloaded a kb sized movie file that's like supposed to be two minutes long, and it freezes every twelve seconds for "rebuffering". Is it still downloading? Why can't I download the file in one sweep? I mean, I have other movie files for Real Player that was 2mb size and don't rebuff or anything. What can I do?
I'm sure there's a logical explanation for this, but I know nothing about Real Player except that it pisses me off.

1 KB? Hmm...You're probably running a streamed video file and what Real Player does for those is DL the file it needs to stream from whatever website and go from there. If you're using a 56K and you're attempting to run a vid file...you can take a guess it won't run well. :\

If you can find a way to DL the whole RM file in one fell swoop...I'd do that instead of going through Real Player to do it.

Quicktime > Windows Media Player > Dirt > Crap > Digested Shit > Real Player.

As for a solution, no, don't know any, I'll just give the lame, "switch player" comment

I don't think there is a way to do this, that's just how Real Player sucks.

Even though there are so many much better players out there, not much support Real Player format.

Hiryuu, I kind of figured that's what it was doing. I went to like "download link" but it still only downloads the 1kb part, instead of the whole file.
This is what I'm referring to, if it matters.

edit: alright, people, I KNOW real player sucks. I didn't say I created the movie, I just want to watch it. Telling me to use another player doesn't help with shit.

...and yea it's a streamed file...if you can't find a way to DL the whole thing, you're literally SOL. :\

Not that it'll improve your connection speed or anything, but I suggest you use Real Alternative and Media Player Classic instead of the, ahem, "real" RealPlayer. I've used it myself and haven't had any trouble with it. Trust me, your computer will thank you.

There are programs for windows that lets you download streaming RM files. So if you're really desperate to get the file, get someone to do that.

BMF, the problem is I have Mac OS 9, which supports absolutely nothing. It's not a big deal, RealPlayer works enough for what I want it to do.. well I guess it is some sort of a problem based on what max told me.
