Vote for the resolution you use most often. I want to set up guidelines for post layouts and if my theory is correct, barely anyone still uses 800x600. Therefore, I want to see what the optimal width for a layout should be. If 90% of the results show 1024x768 or higher, I can say "Layouts can go up to but not exceed 800 pixels in width" without worrying about alienating low-resolution users. If 2 people have a scrollbar, the other 100 shouldn't have to be penalized (I believe 600 is the maximum currently permissable). I use a 1600x1200 layout but my browser window is about 1024x768 in size so that I can also read IM convos, my buddy list, and IRC while I'm browsing. |

I'm using 1280 by 1024. Sometimes my brother switches it to 1024 by 768, but it's mostly on the 1280 by 1024 setting. |

I generally use 1024 x 768, simply because anything more than that feels just a little too big for me. Of course, my video card supports them all, so there'd be no problem if you guys decided to make it as big as you want |

I always wanted to know: Why 1280x1024, instead of 1280x960? I couldn't get into the 5:4 ratio and a lot of games just looked weird (as opposed to the normal 4:3 ratio of 1280x960, 800x600, and all the others I listed ) |

1024x768...I've been using it since August or so of 2002, when I got this computer...in early 2001 I was actually surfing the net on my parents' computer in 640x480. Now I can't stand 640x480 (or 800x600 for that matter), unless I'm playing an old videogame or something.

I use 800x600 right now, and fairly often too, but almost only because that's the resolution GunBound uses and I often switch in and out ... Otherwise it's either 1024x768 or 1152x864 for me, but I have the taskbar on the right at about 128 pixels wide, so my browser window at 1152x864 is like 1024x864 So I'll vote 1024x768 ... And between 1280x960 and 1280x1024, I'd pick 1280x960 ... just because I can set it to 70Hz instead of only 60Hz (edited by Acmlm on 03-20-04 04:36 PM) |

I'm using 1152x864 resolution with 32-bit color. But post layouts should still be made so they look right in any resolution.

You should've enabled multivoting because I use 800x600 and 1280x1024 equally. The former on the laptop [can't go higher] and the latter on the tower [;;] And since I'm on the laptop mostly [not by choice] ... ; |
