My website's main page contains the following text:

"Note: Banedon's Ultimate King's Quest Site does not have, has never had, and will never have advertisements of any kind. If an ad pops up while you're here, stop using Internet Exploder and get a real Web browser."

When I had Exploder, my computer got SO infested with spyware/adware/viruses, it wasn't even funny.

Photoshop doesn't do PNG too well... The GIMP is far better suited for PNG.

The worst PNG renderer have to be the one in Frontpage, yes I have worked with Frontpage in a class once. I wanted to test how it handled a PNG image.

...even IE handled it better.

And on that PNG transparency test, Firefox pass everyone of them. Still PNG isn't perfect yet in Firefox. There is a test which it didn't pass somewhere.

I thought FrontPage used the IE rendering engine... unless that's only for the "preview" pane.

Personally, if you can't make your page look good in EVERY BROWSER, then your page sucks. I don't care if you use fancy standards that IE can't support, transparent pngs, or anything else that's browser specific.

If it doesn't work in all browsers, it sucks. Period.

(which is why my site's been tested in IE, Opera, and Firefox*, soon to test in Lynx XD)

Microsoft, ironically, has been a major actor in the field of inventing these things. They were among the first to adopt using it to style a few tags on their web site way back with IE 3 and 4. (So that people would find a reason to upgrade, probably.)

The box model hack linked above was even invented by a Microsoft engineer, Tantek
