If it's Internet restrictions, they usually use a proxy. That's how 99% of all filters work. Andministrator rights... no idea. My school just gave everyone admin rights to begin with. |

Here's one: If they disable RUN or DOS just go to notepad and type: @echo off call command And save that as a .bat file, then open that and it'll throw you right into DOS. You'll have to use EXIT to get out of DOS and THEN close the window though. |

Last time I tried doing this I was in high school, they had restrictions as to what you could or could not access. I got past it with out even knowing it, next thing I know, I'm banned from school computers for a week (edited by Yarx on 03-22-04 05:21 AM) |

The most fun ones are Windows 95 computers. 1. Boot in Safe Mode. 2. Open regedit 3. Modify privileges. 4. Reboot. 5. Exclaim 'woot!' 6. Get stared at. |

Wow, isn't "how can I bypass school security" a general question... that's like, going to the butcher, saying "I want meat"... On my previous school site there were a lot of ways to bypass everything. You could enter a lot of restricted drives and folders by simply making a shortcut to them, inluding the control panel. Special net drives normally not accessable for us could be entered with a batch file with net use m:\ (M was a Manufacturing drive only used, and normally only accessable, by teachers ). And a hell of a lot more. |

I know that if you boot Win XP in safe mode. There is an admin account there named "admin". Unless the people at the school were smart enough to remove that account. I hadn't started Win XP in boot mode yet (I had no need too) so I can't confirm it, but severeal PC magazines have stated that... This dosen't work at my school thought. The computers even have their bios locked (yep, we have pretty smart admins here...) . Unless I remove the battery I can't even use an Boot disc... which can be used as an hacking tool. I can't really do anything 'big' at my school, messing with the computers will get you punished very badly. And the old "I was trying to point out a security hole" excuse stopped working after I gave myself admin rights.

Reminds me of Quake class. My highschool spent a lot of money to set up a technology class in one of the old shop rooms. It had a wind tunnel, a programable robot, a sound studio both, a tv station room, and several other stations with computers that did different things. Then they put the shop teacher in charge of the room. Now this guy was barely smart enough to teach shop. The more computer savy students had a way to by pass the firewall and install games. It had something to do with renaming windows.exe and restarting the computer. When it freaked out trying to find windows, they went in and changed the parameters of the security then fixed it and restarted again. Eventualy the teacher would help and install the games (even told some students the password to do so) and the entire class was in a deathmach of either Quake 2 or Starcraft. Fun class, but I doubt the teacher is working there anymore. |

I bring CD's of roms and Zsnes to my school all the time, kids download Kazaa, hell I've seen Grokster, Kazaa, Morpheus, Aries, and Kazaa Lite on the same computer! People have no dignity in that. But if your wanting to easily bypass internet restriction use a proxy, even though they can be annoying on how slow they can be there simple.

Our School isn't the brightest, but the Proxyrestriction... you can only use Ports 80 for HTTP and 21 for FTP, others I didn't check, but IRC or Filesharing is not possible. except you use Port 80 or 21. We had the Filenamerestriction back in 2001, when the School still used Windows 98 Computers. So a search for Winword or explorer.exe on the network bought you many results. As they upgraded to Windows 2000, that restriction left. You still don't have any Administrator Rights, but you can run every programm, that doesn't require these. I downloaded some Games and Roms there too, it was funny as we watched the Intro from Super Demo World; The Legend Continues several times. Or when they watched as I played it. Some levels ARE hard, aren't they? Played Mario Kart over the Network, and the Homeworld 2 Demo, or GTA2, or other Games and things. But mostly they play Flashgames or browserbased Onlinegames. |

No. Our school at least has seperate folders for all users, but you get some error when you try to open someone elses. |
