Well, I'm thinking I might try to make a roast for dinner tomorrow night with my new roommates, but I'm not sure what to get.

I'm going to ask them too, but I was just wondering, what do you guys like as a roast dinner?

I'm leaning towards Pork, because I haven't had roast pork in ages, and the crackling is awesome!

Of course, whatever I cook, it will have roast vegies and the appropriate sauces with it Mmm... getting hungry thinking about it

What's your favorite... what do you suggest I do?

Pork. Actually honey ham. Hmmm...sweet, sweet, ham.

But yea, do pork, I think that would be your best bet.

They are all pretty good, but you can't go wrong with a good ham....

Well, we didn't have the roast, after all...

We actually had something called "Jambalaya" which I've never had before, but was pretty damned cool.

But I will try to have a little roast later. I am looking forward to it, actually....

Isn't that supposedly the really spicy stuff...like some stew or something?

I dunno...I'm not big on eating anything in the roasts category...but usually you can't go wrong with ham, potatoes w/ brown gravy, and a veggie.

Damn...I think I just named dinner tonight.

Jambalaya is spicy. It's a cajun thing. Ours wasn't real hot though, but it had a little spice in it.

I need to be in the right mood for spice, but this was good

Bah...weenie...I'll eat something spicy anytime. Well...almost...if I'm sick or something...that's just asking for it.

And yea I've gone overboard on spice way too often...I think it's affected my palette thanks to it.

It's not so much that I don't like spice, but it is that I have to be in the right mood for it.

I guess it's cause the stuff I like the best -- stuff like creamy pasta and things more like that -- isn't usually stuff that goes well with spice.

I guess my palate is geared towards the milder end of the spectrum. Doesn't mean I don't like or can't handle hotter food, just isn't what I prefer

Still, this was very nice. Warm, but not so warm it's painful in any way. In fact, I would've liked it to be a little warmer. I wonder if chilli would've gone well with it... I think most of the heat came from tabasco. I don't think there was any cayenne or anything in it... o.o

I'm pretty sure my palette's died to the mild end of the spectrum.

Like...Italian dressing for salads, since that has a little zing...and not Ranch dressing or something in the sour end of the spectrum (even mildly, I'll turn my nose up to it most times :\). But I think it has to do with the fact that I haven't eaten that type a lot and the spicy stuff a lot.

That or I broke my tongue.

I must have pretty plain tastes, but I like things that are creamy. Or cheesy. Or meaty.

Bacon Carbonara pasta with lots of parmesan cheese on top is one of my many ideas of heaven

Course, that stuff is very cream / egg / bacon based, and I don't think those more delicate flavors go well with hot stuff. I know actually, cause somebody put chilli on carbonara once, and it just destroyed the carbonara!

And I've just found out I'm having leftover Jambalaya for the next few days for all meals.

Have anyone tasted the Japanese spice wasabi? Bah! Japanese, Chinese, whatever...it tastes good, however...

I like spicy food aswell. Once, I took some red chili and started to chew it. It fucking burned for like...20 minutes in my mouth...

You people are crazy. Spicy food is horrible. I'm a pansy with food. Like with meats, they must be a little burnt. Rare steaks make me gag. The only seafood I'll eat is burnt fried shrimp.

Go go burning.

Hm... I used to like my steak "well done" too, but I seem to like it more medium now. I like it to be juicy, only *just* a little pink on the inside.

I never used to eat seafood either, but I've now developed a taste for prawns, squid, and fish. Nothing like oysters though. Oysters are gross!

A good lamb is hard to beat!

Oh, and YoshiDude, a little burnt? What kind of pansy-ass way of eating is that?

Totally missed this thread.

I really can't stand anything aside from roast beef, which is good because my mom makes good roasts. Pork is average at best but sometimes that's what's on the table. The other's don't factor in at my house.

I thought we were going to have roast beef today actually, but I was wrong - turkey.
