Hey everybody, who here likes puzzle games? Or, who likes the Lolo series? Well, Sivak Drac made a Lolo hack going from levels 1 - 1 to levels 2 - 5. This is one of those puzzle hacks that are challenging. Here is a pic of the first level... Here is the latest patch, get it here. Try it out, it's pretty cool. |

I really haven't seen many Lolo hacks out there or in progress. This one looks really interesting. That looks cool. *downloads* |

Bah, this really reminds me about Neptune. I have a very nice working version that I made last year with a perfectly effecient recompressor that recompresses the data back better than the original game even had it compressed, but I sorta stopped working on it about a year ago. The main reason Neptune isn't in a finished state with a public release that happened long ago is because of lack of interest. Nobody seemed interested enough to care. I figured it would end up like mega-edit 3 where no-one would ever use it, so I've kind of just lost interest myself. I don't suppose you used FX3's editor to do this. His editor was extremely messy in recompressing and moving the levels (I've seen the source). And it had some very serious bugs. It probably already has currupted your rom. It will only be a matter of time before you notice if you haven't already. I find the very thought of anyone using that editor very disturbing. |

You know Bbitmaster, I was talking to Sivak Drac about his hack & he told me that in level 7-1 in the editor hes using would crash when he would open up level 7-1, but when he would put the password to play the game the level got all glitchy on him. If thats the case and his ROM is corrutped, I'll defenitly let him know. Thanks for the heads up Bbitmaster. | |||

Just out of curiosity, is there actually a way to get through level 1-2? I've been trying for about three hours now and I'm pretty sure I've tried every combination possible. Other than that, very nice work! Heheh. |

Can't beat 1-2? Man. 1-4 will make you very angry then. (1-3 might too) If you have NES Ticle, I could maybe make one of those old movies that shows how to beat a level. Though figuring it out on your own is much more rewarding. Just remember to not block the Don in the middle in a spot where they can still get at you. You need to block him from underneath, then from above. In other news: I've got 18 levels now for the hack, though I'll probably not do any more demos until it's done. With any luck, I might be able to alter the level order. I will admit the ones in level 1 are pretty hard and some of the ones later aren't quite as hard. My goal will be to go from average to hard. I just put in the hard ones since I didn't imagine this turning into a project... Just a small demo. Glad that there are some users who want a challenge. |

Interesting, but I'll have to beat my brains out on this hack another time. Lolo kind of pisses me off. You really need to have patience to play these kinds of games. When I'm up to it (and mentally prepared not to send my monitor through the wall) I'll probably look this up. I didn't know you were still into romhacking, Siv. great job on the Megaman V midis, by the way. |

One of my roommates and I worked on level 1-2 collectively for about three or four hours, but it's done. Can't wait until the final version is released. This should keep us busy for the rest of the semester... (edited by PSlugworth on 10-08-04 04:42 AM) (edited by PSlugworth on 10-08-04 04:42 AM) |

PSlugworth - Well, glad you beat it. Just remember: Don't beat yourselves up on levels for a long time. That's not my intent with this. But if you stay entertained, that's good. Bit Blade: This is my first hacking since like 2001 (when I did the Bass 2 hack). If I had known about the editor when it had come out, I might have begun this sooner. Though it's probably for the better. I probably wouldn't have come up with these hard ones back then. Mega Man V midis? That's old stuff! Hehe. |
