Originally posted by Master Sion That's actually the first time I ever heard someone say that. Even then people who do not know the language well, I haven't heard them say that. We had two guys working with us who didn't know that much, but after working with us, and picking up on this, before they quit, their english was so much better than when they had first started with us. But anyway, once again Sofie, congrats. |

Its hard because of they way we spell and pronounce words with silent letters and what not, ours is the only language where we have words like "knock" with a silent k...or PH that makes an F sound, and so on.

Neko, she's just going to go ask Adrian what it means. Flawed. Very flawed. Dunno about the English thing... look how many people we have here from different countries who can type well in English. But then again, any language which doesn't share similarities to your own is going to be tough - see English <--> Japanese. |

I think that's a bit extreme. The reasoning I heard was because there are so many exceptions to the rules. |

If your native language isn't some western european language, I can see English being REALLY hard to learn. Congrats |

English is said to be the hardest language to learn in the world because we have the most words in a language, the most gramatical rules, and for every rule there is at least one exception

You people should broaden your languagehorizons I love some of the simple things in Swedish, but they get balanced out by other unecessairy complicated things. Like every language, I guess :-/ |
