I'm posting this because when I romhack I do it for long periods of time in one day. I need something to listen to/ watch when I'm having an uninspired moment or want to take a breather.

Usually I just come here or one of the other acmlm boards to be amused but when the board is dead there's not really much to see. I also listen to lots of music, mostly VG music and funk, dance, and a bit of some other random genres in there.

Well anyways, what do y'all do when the going gets boring?

Well, I have editors for many games that I hack when it does get boring hacking one thing. Keeps me occupied a lot.

I also have a few .spc files that I listen to while doing long-term hacking (for 30 minutes at a time).

I also sometimes have the TV on and listen to it while hacking. Sometimes, even television helps me make a new level! Weird, though...

And another thing that keeps me occupied is gum... yeah, gum. Just keep chewing and that is it... helps me stay occupied for some reason...

While I ROM hack, I have to pump my speakers listening to Hip Hop music, Biggie Smalls, Big Pun, The Beatnuts, etc., if I'm stuck I play other people hacks to get inspiration. Like Cpubasic13, I have alotta editors to hack various games also.

Metal, metal, and more metal. That's what I do while I'm doing pretty much anything other than playing a game. If I'm playing a game, then I listen to the in-game music.

Usually I play a midi file of a catchy video game music while hacking. I never listen to music done by bands, I just have my midis. Megaman 8's catchy Astro Man keeps me focused a great deal of the time. However, when I'm using a Rom editor in Windows (not DOS), the speed of the editor slows down, so I shut off the midi and sing my own music. (Do do do d-d-de de de...)

Okay, I guess I'm really weird. But that probably goes for a lot of us... what else is new?

I just listen to my Moby songs and kick back for a while. That or Mad TV. The more I watch that, the more I miss SNL. Oh well. Speaking of Rom Hacking, I gotta get back to SMW Extreme soon

I roll up a phat one before and light it up, then I start hacking and gradually get high, it's fun how hard hacking can become while being stoned.

Winamp + large list of SPC's, PSF's, USF's, and MP3's, totalling 90 hours worth. In my profile is a list of my immediate favorites. I'm good for hours, until I get frusterated with what I'm hacking.

Coffee. Lots of coffee. Helps me concentrate and keeps me kind of "floaty and happy and warm". A nice coffee break, some chickenwings and hot sauce, and maybe a gba game marathon right after.... Nothing like nice eats and drinks and games to get me back on track of hacking another game.

I know, I'm bizzare.

I second chickenlump on the coffee. Coffee is suitable for any job.

When I hack I either listen to radio or electro/chippy-music.

For the great music I listen to go go go:
micromusic
8bitpeoples

As long as "commercial" music goes, I listen to:
Elektrofant, R
d4s

geez, seems like we have more in common than i thought in the first place.

i usually listen to video game music(mostly snes and most of the time from the game im currently hacking)
or zapp & roger, my favorite 80ies electrofunk band and one of my favorite bands overall.
recently, i tried to build my own talkbox, but i yet have to make it sound like roger troutman (that vocoder-like voice, if you ever heard one of his songs.). ~_=

Please Knuck. Spare us the "I am better than you" routine. I'd like to see you do what I do and not get bored. I mainly opened the thread to help me find some new kinds of music to listen to.

When i Rom Hack... my ding-a-ling entertains me...

seriously... shouldn't you be entertained enough by the romhacking... now maybe if you listen to music for inspiration i could see it... but romhacking on it's own should be entertaining...

Videogame music makes a good atmosphere when hacking... I'm listening to Trance and maybe Pop or Rap when hacking... Games are technology, therefore; "high-tech music" from the 21st century...

No you're not Xkeeper... though... you did make me miss my Win95 machine with good ol' DOS *sniff*

Anyhoo, I listento music and talk on AIM. I usually listen to old school hip-hop and overclocked remixes (not the techno ones though, the ones that are more like orchestras)
