My family bought a second house near the lake and we're staying there every weekend. It's 45 minutes from the nearest town and very quiet during the day.

There is something very wierd about that old house that I cannot put my finger on. I feel like a little kid again. There's always something knocking at the walls. Those are'nt tiny taps, I hear something banging on the walls every night we stay there. I always feel really uncomfortable walking down those stairs. I'm going back tomorrow (yay...) and it bothers the hell outta me.

Have you ever been alone at night thought you heard footsteps behind and turned around and no one's there? And as you quicken up your pace you find it hard to look again because you're sure there's someone there?

Something banging on the walls = old plumbing. That's what I'd see it as anyways.

Either that or you're sleeping in the Three Bears' house and they want in.

Animals? Eh, in the walls it sounds a little unlikely, but possible, I guess.

Old plumbing can be noisy too. At one place I lived, the plumbing would make loud thumping noises, at an old place I lived at, it would make quieter tapping noises.

Or your place could be haunted by someone who died nearby. XD

My friend thinks the two people who died in a car crash half a mile away six years ago haunt my house. It's cool.

Yeah, where I live the floor creeks by itself.
So at night it sounds like there is someone walking around.
But over time I've learned to ignore them.

Some house (epecially old ones) always creak of bang for whatever reason. It's always a bit unsettling when it's not your house, though.

My house is pretty old.
40 years at the least.
And my Grandma's house makes weird noises also. It's not exactly a gynormous house, but it's still creepy.

This house is making a buzzing noise right now. I keep thinking it's my electric toothbrush, but I *know* I turned that off....

I *know* it's off, because I've checked.

Twice now.

Haha, the first house I lived in..well it was a duplex. It was supposedly haunted but I don't remember anything becuse this guy commited suicide in it and good thing I didn't find out until we moved out. Another supposedly, that my cousins were doing that thingy that can bring them out and so now it's really haunted. He turns off the radio and some other things..I'm never going back there. Oh yeah, some of my family lives there now if you didn't figure it out .

About 5 years ago, when my cousin moved into his new house, I stayed the night, and that was the first night they stayed there also, so me and my cousin were playing around with a gameboy camera, taking random pictures, and we took about 10 or so at about midnight, cant remember, and we started to look through them, at about 12:30, and 2 of them had white outlines in the shape of a person, 1 a person just standing there, the other a person dragging something....i swear to god, that this is true...but of course the gameboy camera was lost a while later(about 4 or 5 months later) but before that, a few people saw it and where amazed.

I have faint memories of hauntings from my old house, but then it probably was the rats there. Hell my mom said that I told them that I saw a rat as kid but they didn't belive me. And later a odor was in their bedroom... you can guess it was a dead rat.

And some fans giving out low frequency can make people uneasy. And think that they are not alone, this have happened in offices where the "spooky feeling" disappeared when they replaced the fan.

...if anything the only spooky things I have seen is halluncations from me being up for long.

I've lived in a couple places that do that. A butt-ugly green house (thankfully, it wasn't that shade of green inside), an older house that's about half an hour from anything vaguely civilized, and a few newer places.

Don't really know what to tell you, except get used to it. After a while, you won't notice it anymore, it'll just be a normal part of life.

My house is around 110 years old, older victorian home. Normally I don't hear any strange noises, but I get paranoid very easily so if I hear anything weird it gets to me sometimes.

A good friend of mine truly believes his attic is haunted, talks about strange noises and what not. I dunno if I could sleep if I thought my house was haunted, im just weird like that.

I get pretty paranoid when I'm walking out alone at night. I focus on any off sounding noise and am constantly looking around. With good reason though, people have gotten robbed on my campus before.

As for being in a house, I more focus on things that look odd rather than sounds. My apartment is noisy so there's always some level of noise that I can't account for.
