| I won't get to see my friends, I won't get to see my girlfriend, and I may even have to drop out of my classes and start next Spring. I have mono. What makes me mad is the fact that my girlfriend may get it too because it's called the "Kissing Disease" and I don't want her to have to go through with it. I'm kind of worried that it will draw us apart and our relationship will deteriorate since I must stay at home for a long time. That's the rant part. Has anyone else here had mono and if so, how long did it last? I guess I'm kind of looking for tips I guess.... |

| If your relashionship is going to end because you cant kiss, you have a shitty relashionship. As for mono, if you take anti-biotics and what not, it might only stick around for a couple weeks. Drink alot of water. |

| Sucky little sickness to go through... First time I had it, I had no idea what it was, but I did experience some swelling in the mouth. If symptoms persist, it's best to drink a lot of fluids and take medication such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Since it's the weekend, get a lot of rest and wash your hands often to prevent it from spreading. Hope you feel better soon. |

Ow.  One of my classmates in elementary school was out for 6 weeks with mono... messed her up.  She still managed to get through Grade 6 but it wasn't easy.Good luck. |

| My best friend had Glandular Fever in high school. We thought it was kinda funny, because she was good friends with a male friend of ours, and he got sick at the same time. It was known that she had glandular fever, so we put two and three together and got nine. Clearly they **both** had Glandular Fever and some kind of illicit affair was going on behind our backs!! *gasp!* OMG OMG OMG! *flails arms about and acts like a generally ditzy high school girl*Course, he had a cold and was back in a few days, while my best friend was away for a few weeks. Which kinda shot that whole rumor/theory out of the water. But it made for a lot of laughs.My best friend thought it was hilarious when she heard it though So did the guy. Thankfully though, our friends knew that we were just a bunch of overactive, silly drama queens that meant no harm, and saw the fun in it  In fact, I think they both laughed at how stupid we all were (hey, we were 15....)Wonder if any such rumors are currently spreading about you guys at the moment? If they are, hopefully they're the kind of silly and harmless stuff that my friend was subjected to. My friend still finds it funny |

| Actually, we also have some kind of cocking gun in Canada called Mono. I don't think there's any risk of contracting mono by using Mono in your home but what do I know. |
