I hate needle after affects...

I want a shot... not a dead arm, not numbness(unless that is what the shot was for)

Ive never been a fan of needles... Having something impaled into you isnt the most fun thing in the world.

I have no problem with the needle itself... usually the worst side-effect I have is a sore arm...

It's the buildup. It's just the fear that it *might* end up hurting. Nobody really wants pain.

See, the buildup changes for me too.

If I know for a fact that the person giving the needle is very experienced, it isn't so worrying, cause I know they'll do it well.

If I know that they're not so experienced, then it's a little more worrying. Because while they *might* do it well, they might *not* and it hurts a whole lot more when they don't do it well.

I have had needles from young doctors before and they rate amongst the most painful ones I've had. Particularly one, where I was getting an IV -- as she fucked it up TWICE. She missed the vein twice, then decided to go for my other arm.

Nurses give injections/etc more than doctors too, so I feel safer when a nurse is doing it than when a doctor is doing it. A really experienced nurse can make a needle -- LITERALLY -- painless!!

I'd say what happens after. I'm not too sacered of the needle it's self, or build up.
I actually like to watch.

I'm agree. I hate to think about that it will come soon (only one hour left etc.), but it doesn't really hurt at all...

Since I haven't had a needle digging into my arm for awhile, I'm not too scared of them anymore. I wasn't really before..really. It was the build-up before hand that got to me I think. Thinking about how it was going to go and stuff..how big the needle would be..or something

Well, but then needles is something you can get used to. My sister got injections on regular basic (every two weeks or something) at some point since her hormones did make he grow too fast. After awhile she didn't make big businiuess out of it.

You don't have an 'all of the above' choice -.-
The after effects are usually worst for me (low bloodpressure + not being allowed to eat for bloodtests= bleh), but depending on who gives the shot, and how long they take to prepare it, the other two options can be worse.
The most annoying needles I ever had were a set of 40 allergy tests on my back, of which some proved to be extremely responsive.
The itching was more annoying than the weird rashes and needles :-/

I actually ran out of the nurse's office when they were giving some kind of shot back in highschool; it was the first year she had to put shots since ages, and she sucked at it. <<;

When I went to hospital last week with an infection in my knee, they poked and prodded me with so many needles and canula's cos they couldn't get a reliable vein! After a while you get used to the pain, but when they jab a 3" needle into your freakin knee THAT hurts! And the doc moved it around inside looking for an infection.

Luckily they found none, but for normal injections/needles I'm perfectly fine, over the past few weeks with my knee op and the infection saga I've become immune to the feelin!

I like getting needles <.<

In fact, I really enjoyed the feeling of the tattoo needles in my skin.

A few months ago, I would've said the buildup.

However, having been in a position where I receive a lot of injections in a short period of time (Particularly around mid-July), I'd have to say the pain of the needle itself is worse.

See, I've had a few blood tests lately, and will have another one in a month and a half, and the buildup is still the worst bit. Closely followed by that dizzy feeling afterwards -- although last time I wasn't feeling ill when I had the blood test so I didn't get that; it only seems to happen when I'm not feeling great.

As for tattoo needles, never had one, and don't know enough about them....

You know what I realised. I can't even stand other people getting a injection. I can stand many gross things (blame the internet...) but not that.

Hmm... I can handle other people getting needles, but sometimes I can get a kinda creepy feeling watching the needle pierce the flesh and sink in deeper and deeper. Just some kind of weird, unnerved feeling. I think it's partly cause there's just this part of my brain that says it's not right that something goes in somebody like that...

As for gross things, yeah, the internet has that effect upon people

Anticipation is more potent then what you're anticipating, or so I've found. Hence my vote .

Even the reason for posting this thread proves my point, in a way.
