I don't tolerate ANY spam or flaming in my debate forum...

I've banned 3 people in the past before

and I delete posts on a regular basis from that forum....

I'd rather not call it "Political" discussion, because there are a bunch of other "taboo" topics that can't be discussed elsewhere too -- like Religion, for starters.

A lot of news out there isn't necessarily political... I'd like to discuss all kinds of more contraversial issues

And even some noncontraversial news from time to time (at least, not conventially controversial news...)

Wow, thank you guys so much for actually listening up and helping out with this! I haven't been able to get on and post much lately with the extreme amount of work in school, so I kinda let things slip for a while. Midterms, ya know.

Anyway, I can't wait to hear about what all happens and to see the final results! I guess there's a thread in General now? Better go find it. Thanks again guys, y'all are awesome =D

Thank YOU for bringing up my favorite request again

It's reminded me that I needed to find out what was going on with this, and try to get some action. I've requested this myself at least four seperate times, and that's just ME, not even counting everybody else who's suggested it.

I'm glad that this time something seems to have happened, or started to happen with this, as I'd enjoy a news forum. So cheers for bringing it up again and letting us all have a rant and get the cogs moving....

Now my only fear is that it will become a forum for US politics only. Some US politics okay, but all US politics and I'll scream. Taryn cannot live on US politics alone!

I definitely agree with that! With the multi-cultural population of the forum, it would be a blast for people from other countries to share their own news. I mean, how many chances do we get to learn about all the issues going on around the world, not only the ones in our own particular country. I really hope this works out! *crosses fingers*

No, this isn't the right place, this belongs in Rom Hacking.

Seriously though, we've had the idea for a Political/Religious dicusstion forum thread for a long long time now. (Back to January I think.) To this day, I STILL don't know why no one has made one yet. All we do is talk about having one, but it never happens. WHY?! It's a great idea.

Some people are against it because they think it will just erupt in a flamewar. But so what? Just ban the ones who get out of line. No big deal. I don't think it will be that big a problem though. In the past several months, all political and religious threads we've had have done really well when it comes to not flaming or trolling.


Any people who would flame over political beliefs (unless they were incredibly outrageous like voting for bush) shouldn't be allowed in this forum anyway.
