| The spider I am most scared of in the movies is the giant spider from Lord of the Rings. It actually creeped me out, but did'nt discourage me. The spider I won't lay a hand on is the rare Aranian Desert Recluse. They are like black widows except the size of someone's hand and very fast. It's a new species but finding one is pretty hard. |

You have every right to be paranoid about spiders, DV. I've noticed that the more I kill the more they seem to hate me and start showing up more and more often. So I made a peace treaty with them of sorts and now I don't kill them in my own home. I don't think I've seen a spider in ages here. In other homes, however...  I'm also the official sugar ant Hitler. I had a nasty infestation of them a couple years ago at my old apartment. There'd be upwards of 500 of them near my garbage can, sometimes in my room (they liked to play near my computer for some strange reason), and I'd get out good old Windex with Ammonia D and spray those fuckers till there were bodies everywhere. I was home fairly often so I think I actually managed to wipe them out personally. I saw a queen Ant a few days before move out and I killed her too. She was probably looking for the one who murdered all her children. ::remembers the glee with a shiver:: |

| There is this place I went to called, "the cave of enchantment" and there is a place where thousands of daddy longlegs are on the walls. They tell people not to bring any lighters or anything, because the heat provokes the spiders, causing them to scream and scatter all over the place. I faintly heard if from outside, and someone got in big trouble for scaring off the tourists. I tried holding a flame up to one myself, and that thing screamed very faint, but sharp. I could hear it in the jar. |
