Dude, the current code works the same way in IE and Firefox. You must have a fucked up installation or Javascript turned off. Try upgrading.

Ziff: Bullshit. Yes, there are other browsers, but it's as easy to learn that as it is to learn that there are different car brands. Firefox provides a cleaner interface than IE at the start, with perhaps the only downside being that IE has bigger buttons, which is a big (!) plus in usability.

Might I add (since someone already posted seconds after I did anyway) those idiot companies who think the browser war consists of IE, NETSCAPE, and the godawful shit-in-a-box AOL browser*.

THIS PAGE OPTIMIZED FOR BULLSHIT OLDBROWSER V0.1.

--------------------------

Yeah... especially like certain pages at my school which pop up a dialog "YOU AR NOT USING A BROWZR VALEDATED FOR USE WITH THIS PAGE OMGOMOGMG! PLESE GO HERE -->" every page , especailly when (most) things work absolutely perfect and the only things that don't are overly bloated Javashit pieces of crap.

*Shitty, based off of IE, too

I know none who have tried Firefox and still prefer IE, the few who had problems with the older firefox versions have less problems with the newer versions.

What about people who tried Firefox and remained with another browser?

Actually, waaaaaaaaaaaaay back then I tried Firebird and hated its guts (namely because it couldn't survive a registry crash, which was more common than a penny at the time)... before the crash it was alright (about equal to IE), but after it just continued to steal my file extension associations and of course the uninstaller was broken .... after that I remained with the falling-apart-at-the-seams IE and finally got Opera.

Recently (read: 2 months ago) tried Firefox, still prefer Opera. IE, though... ick.

Hm, I should try Mozilla one day. Opera has somehow decided to suck lately, placing text outside the page so it cannot be read, doing "illegal operations" all the time at certain sites (even when I'm not actually doing anything. Some sites (like animelab, for instance), are pretty much a ticking time bomb when I visit it using Opera).

Ah well, it's still better than IE. Everything is.

The DIV isn't high enough in Opera, it seems ...er, tall enough.

I used to have problems with Opera (it'd crash on loading Acmlm's board asap) but that was on the old 300MHZ comp, I haven't had any problems... try reinstalling it

I have Firefox and IE, but I mainly use IE. Why? Because it has a built in FTP browser that works all the time for me. Whenever I have to upload something to my site, I just go to my ftp server real quick, drop it off, and go back to whatever I was doing. Firefox, however, is a bitch about it with me. That just turned me off every time I had to re-open IE. And whenever I did, I would switch back to using IE.

Jesper, you may now embark on a crusade to educate every last person on Earth about different internet browsers.

Congratulations, you now have a quest which will never be completed.

No. One fifth to one sixth of the world's population doesn't know what electricity, cars or the Internet is. And so on. If they don't browse the web, why would they need to know?

And all I was saying is this:
Guy A: "You need another web browser."
Guy B: "What's a web browser?"
Guy A: "Internet Explorer is a web browser, but it's a bad and outdated one. I can show you another one that I think you'll like more. It has some convenient things built-in that will make surfing easier and block some irritation you'll get from Internet Explorer."
Guy B: "OK. Sounds nice."

If they don't know, you tell them, when the opportunity comes up.

I used IE for two years, and it messed up my computer beyond repair. I had to reformat.

Yes, Jesper, but to have the general user educated on a wide basis is what I'm scoffing at.

I've already gotten about a dozen or so of my compatriots to use Mozilla.

I use Mozilla Firefox 0.8. Now when ever I use IE, I can tell how slow and crappy it is...and, how it makes me mad, cause anytime I actually use IE, it ends up crashing.

Wait, what's all this Opera vs Firefox stuff? Isn't Firefox solely the browser portion of Opera? Or is that Mozilla I'm thinking about? The one with the built in irc client, mail, etc....

When I installed Mozilla on my parents' computer while I was home over Christmas, my brother later deleted it because he thought it was "spyware". Isn't spyware usually, um, sneaky?
