I didn't know what the hell they were until I saw one on TV.  I mean, its one of those things that you really don't need for an apartment or even a trailer. Heck, you should be lucky to have a home if you live in a trailer and it goes through several hurricanes, heck, I sure was greatful for that. |

My grandmother and father were out of power and water for almost 14 days and they didn't have a generator.  This was right after Charley, when it was much hotter outside than it is now (course, not by much, really).In cases of power loss during a storm, the first places that will get the power back, are those around hospitals, police stations and places like that. |

| This summer (the middle of summer), we had a nasty brash with thunderstorms, and our electricity went off. My dad was too stubborn to have a generator, so he put dried ice in the fridge and we had to flush our toilets manually. What a horrible week that was. |
