| *Scan stopped* "Dammit!" Janus says as he is ripped away from his task by the bolt of lightning, "I need more time!" Suddenly, he gets an idea. Taking his bag, he slams it, in hammer form, into the ground, kicking up a rush of earth that in the blink of an eye packs into a small, 3 foot high wall for him to duck behind. The dirt, of course, does not conduct electricity. He then resumes his scan. "This should hold you for a little longer...." |

| "I didn't want to have to do this without a garunteed hit, but I can't let you stop my attack. Prepare yourself for my Lightning Fury!" Star jumped into the air and the lightning began to strike down harder on him. He stuck his word straight up and the three points began to chain lightning with his sword. Not to mention that the sky was still contributing lightning. Star swung down his sword and a wave of lightning bolts soared down towards Janus. Instead of just merely crashing into the wall though they went around and over it. The lightning still struck Star as he began to fall down to the ground. The ground all around him was a smouldering crater of dead plants. |

| Janus: "Well, shi---"ZAP!!!!! A massive explosion rocks the area around Janus as the lightning bolts hit his location dead on, spraying dirt and sowing destruction in every direction. Well, almost every direction, anyway... When the dust clears, however, there is no smoking body for Star to finish off. Where could Janus be? Certainly the attack hit him, but the question is, what happened afterward? Closer inspection of the area around where Janus used to be shows that a small hole with a diameter approximately the width of Janus' hammer has been drilled into the ground. A tunnel! Several seconds later, the ground behind Star splits open, and from his tunnel pops Janus and his hammer, scorched, covered in dirt, and with his hair standing on end. He's grinning... "That one definitely hurt. I managed to... well, I guess "ground" myself would be the best choice of words here, before you really unleashed that stuff." It's a good thing Janus doesn't fear death, because he doesn't realize that under most normal circumstances an attack like that would have brought him pretty close to it. Outwardly, Janus seems fine, but he's suffered quite a few internal injuries from the electrical attack. Then, almost as if on cue, Janus coughs up a small mouthful of blood, spitting it onto the ground. "Oh... that can't be good. I guess I better watch out or I might really get hurt. Hmm. And, of course, you should too!" A haymaker! Janus swings his hammer upwards, aiming a shot directly at Star's chin! He follows up by popping his foot outwards in a side kick at Star's midsection. OOC: The kick probably won't hurt Star that much, Janus has extremely low physical strength |

| Star raised his shield and the hammer clanged on it and everything seemed to pause for a second. Then Janus kicked and Star was pushed back and away from a chance of a counter attack. Star was obviously tired and the attack had done damage to him too. Star jumped towards Janus with a jump attack disregarding his pain. "I love that attack, but it hurts me too." |

| Janus raises his hammer perpendicular to Star's blade, parrying the jump attack on the handle. Janus: "Well, don't think I haven't learned anything in all my years either!" Another moment of pause, and Janus rips his hammer away from Star's sword. He backpedals a few feet, twirls around, and comes out of the twirl throwing his hammer straight at Star! |

| Star hits the hammer with his sword and for a second it looks like it worked, but the hammer kept going and hit Star in the head. Star was thrown through the air and landed neatly on his feat. "DAMN you!" Star launched foward his sword swinging wildely towards Janus. Star was enraged and it seemed to make him faster. He might not be able to think clearly, but he could fight harder! |

| In an instant Janus' hammer is back in his hands, ready to parry Star's wide swing! It was too haphazard, though... Janus' hammer handle comes up, attempting once again to catch the blade, but Star's raging strength overcomes him and Janus is left with a deep cut on his shoulder. His muscles tore as the sword severed them, and he comes out of the struggle holding his hammer in only one hand -- his left arm is in far too much pain to be effective. Blood flows freely from his nonfatal wound, indicating that there appear to be limits to the armor's magic... Janus: "Dammit, that's gonna sting in the morning... Well, congrats Star, your anger has given you an advantage." From his bag Janus tears a small piece of fabric, and wraps the makeshift gauze around his cut. It should be fine in a few minutes when it stops bleeding, but for now he's gonna have to watch himself. "But it's still clouding your thoughts, and against someone like me, you're gonna need your mind! Tactical Modification!" Gripping his hammer firmly, Janus begins whirling the weapon around his head in a steady, circular motion. By this point he's a good thirty feet away from Star, and his hammer is traveling very quickly. He releases the weapon, as the hammer spins in the opposite direction of the throw. The hammer collides with the ground and cuts straight through it on a path towards Star, threatening to hit him with large chunks of earth as well as the hammer itself! "Uh...... I'll call this one.... Divot!" |

| "GRAAAAHH! Blink!" Star seemed to phase in and out of reality and the attack just passed through him. He made no move knowing that even if he did attack Janus he would just go straight through him. Star took the time to cool down and waited for blinks effect to wear off. |

| "Your lucky I just don't decide to attack you right now. Go ahead and scan me you won't get anything helpfull from it." Star starts to stop blinking and waits for Janus to finish his scan. Star clamly waits for the fight to resume. Even now Star can't do any attack to Janus without a 99.9% chance of failing. "I hate this attack sometimes... It is a bother, but an instant dodge is always fun." |

| OOC: Taking a page out of Melvin's book here.... Janus: "Oh, I'm not scanning you..." The disc breaks... Janus' eyes light up when he sees the result. A complete success! "Woohoo, our kind of day!" Brilliant red light surrounds Janus, and suddenly on his wrist appears a small watch with a very sharp pink "V" on it... "Ha, who knew I'd be able to do that? Man, you can't even enter a letter in this game, nevermind a name! Star, you shouldn't have let me look at this one for too long... Now let's see what I can do with some "special" effects! I'm kinda glad I held onto this one for as long as I did, this device should be around for a long time." Recalling his hammer, Janus is a bit distended... The cut on his arm is still rendering his left arm useless, the V-Watch is on his right arm, adding a very unbalancing weight to his fighting hand. This should be quite obvious to Star, especially on observation of the way Janus is holding his hammer... it seems as though he's using too much strength to lift it. Still, he rushes toward Star, hoping to actually hit through the Blink defense, or at least scare Star into a more tactically advantageous position. He aims an overhead swing! But it's lopsided..... |

| Star's blink wears off and instead of jumping away throws his shield at Janus. The shield seems enchanted and picks up speed as it heads toward Janus. "Like I could have done anything about it. Blink won't allow me to do anything for a small amount of time, and the chance that an attack will be successful is way to low, but this should work." Star dashes behind the shield shooting electricity at the watch on Janus's right arm instead of aiming at his body. Star still dashes in after his shield trying to score a hit with his sword while attacking. None of these attacks have his full concentration, but Star was confident that the injured Janus couldn't stop him at this point. |

| Barely managing to bat the shield away during his clumsy, overhead strike, and rolling along the ground to avoid the sword, Janus has no time to block the electricity arcing toward his new watch and instead shifts his body to block it! He is shocked hard, but more importantly, the V-Watch is still intact. Dropping his hammer momentarily, he raises the watch above his head, and says a few very important words... Janus (weakly): "Alright, let's give this a try... Henshin A-Go-Go, Baby!!!" A bright flash of light! Instantly bright silver-grey (OOC: Ha, ha, ha. It's an homage.) spandex completely envelops Janus, and the power of the V-Watch renders his arm useful once again! A shining silver helmet surrounds his head and on his forehead comes a (also shining) grey V! Janus is now officially Viewtiful! V-Janus: "WHOA! That's new! Oooh, my arm's ok, too! Hmm..... The outfit's a bit tight across the chest, but other than that I feel great! And, of course, with great costumes comes great power!" OOC: Note: He hasn't figured this out just yet, but while in Viewtiful form, a good half of Janus' techniques are locked out to him both because he's got VFX powers and because it's hell on the drycleaning bill. So yeah, a blessing and a curse. |

| Star dashes over to grab his shield ignoring the transformation. He was more freaked out by the crazy costume than anything else, but he didn't have time to care as he needed his shield. "You are phyco Janus! Who would ever want to look like that!" Star shot some lightning bolts at Janus again to keep him busy while he retrieved his shield. |

| Janus: "I have no friggin' clue! Personally it's a bit uncomfortable, and very tacky... But keep in mind when I'm wearing it I can do.... THIS!" "Mach Speed!" Janus takes off like a shot after Star! It's a time based attack, his every movement speeds up as he rushes over to his hammer, picks it up, rushes to Star, and delivers a series of blows which, though weak, travel at the speed of sound! It won't hurt all that much, but Janus' just getting warmed up! "Woo, who knew superspeed would be so useful?" OOC: If you're thinking this is a bit cheap, just wait til next round... |

| OOC meh not really that cheap compared to what I have seen before... Star was sent flying from the attack. He quickly rebounded and went after his shield again. Star could feel the time energy flowing from Janus, but could do nothing with it in this form. Star shot more lightning bolts at Janus trying to give himself time to reach his shield. "Since when could you move so fast!" Star had his sword ready this time to attempt a block to such a fast attack. |

| V-Janus: "VFX Powe---" And right then they cut out. Janus: "---owers! They're very--- OH GOD MY ARM!" As the spandex miraculously disappeared, and Janus returned to his normal form, the wound on his arm, no longer healed by the power of the V-Watch, burst open and began bleeding freely! "Wh-- What? Ah, crap... I knew I forgot something!" Janus appears to have forgotten that while the VFX powers granted to him by his newly gotten V-Watch are indeed potent, they don't exactly last forever. What's more, the watch has to recharge before he can even consider transforming again! A blessing or a curse...? As a side note, he also forgot about the lightning... ZAP! "Argh!!!!" Also sent flying by Star's attacks, Janus is knocked sprawling to the ground. He needs to recuperate, fast! His wound's stopped bleeding again, meaning his arm is at least a little useful, but that V-watch is gonna have to recharge... No counterattack for Janus, he's pretty much in a world of pain. OOC: So basically while he's Viewtiful, he can't use his normal attacks, but the transformation only lasts for one round. It's one round charge, transform, VFX attack followed by loss of power, charge again.... In a pattern. Too cheap? |

| OOC Nah it is a good idea and makes me use "stratigy" since now most of my attacks will be ineffective when you are Viewtiful, but while you are Janus they will do good damage. Star jumped at his shield picked it up and then noticed Janus was back to his normal self. Star almost felt sorry for Janus for a second... almost... "Come on you can do better than that can't you? At least attack me with a lasting attack..." Star stood ready hoping Janus might unleash something powerful enough to make him think of a way to force his own change. |

| Janus: "Henshin!" Viewtiful again! Janus springs to his feet, full of energy and vigor! Gripping his hammer firmly in both hands, he dashes towards Star, but tries a new attack this time! "Slow Motion!" Time.... slows.... down.......... Everything around Janus goes into slow motion, which he activates as soon as he gets close to Star. He swings his hammer very slowly, the slow motion allowing him to place as much strength as he can into the attack. Right when the hammer's tip is just about to touch Star, the power cuts out! With speed returning to normal, the sheer amount of strength put into the blow sends Janus whirling around dizzily, as a power-packed hammerblow comes straight at Star! Janus is, of course, back to normal and getting extreme motion sickness. "You... I'll make you... pay for that insult... oh, man, I'm gonna be sick..." |

| Star doesn't even attempt to block or dodge, but takes the hammer straight out into his face. Star flips a few times and lands with a heavy thud. It is apparent that time energy is leaking from Star the air around him becomes distorted. Star gets up anyways and light begind to shine around him. "Prepare yourself Janus, because I am about to unleash my full power!" The light hit its top and suddenly went off all at once. In place of Star stood someone about the same hieght with much longer hair. The armor had vanished and turned into a greyish-white robe. Star's hair was also the same greyish-white along with the eyes. The eyes seemed to hold knowledge that not even Janus or Star could ever hope to achieve. The time elemental that Star had thought he defeated a long time ago resurfaced in his body. The sword and shield had merely disappeared and the time elemental planted a seed on the ground. He focused a little bit of energy on it and the seed sprang to life and a mighty tree stood where it had been. "Enjoy your rest while it lasts, as I will not attack you till I have my true weapon back." The time elemental broke off a sturdy looking branch and began to whittled it by decaying parts he didn't like. The limb began to resemble a long staff. |
