I'm a diehard fan of this game series. I played HM64 to death and back again, and now have begun on this new one. Only played for a small bit, let me give you my review. For 40 bucks, I picked up the game. Sweet deal. Its pretty neat, but the days go by wicked fast and time keeps going indoors ; (it...never did that in the other games.) But, from the little bit I've played, its sweet. I think.."my character" has taken a fancy to Nami...perhaps there'll be some 127-bit wedding bells in.."his" future?

For the record, the game literaly forces you to get married before the end of the first year. If you don't propose, the girl who likes you best will. And if no one likes you....um....then you die? I actualy don't know, probably has a randomly selected mate. And theres only 3 girls now. It was much better when marriage was a little extra side thing you didn't need to worry yourself about the whole time you played (needless to say, i would anyways ) but now it sorta defetes the whole purpose of trying to win someone's heart when all you really need to do is get them to like you a little and they'll propose if you don't...eh, whatever. Having a kid isnt based on if you treat your wife well and she loves you, you just automaticly have one And apparently if you turn down their proposal you can't play after the second year...that's replay value, right there folks.

However, I must say that despite that, I love this game....really neat. Only thing it really lacks is music. Only time music is played is on the farm, and in select houses. The town itself and all its suroundings, are completly silent save for the noises of nature. Not necesarily a bad thing, but all the other games had it...so yeah. All in all, this is a great game and if you are a fan of the series, get it. You'll probably love it

edit: I just sorta figured somthing out. Actualy, the goal of this game is apparently based along living a full life as opposed to just having a good farm, which explains why marriage is such an urgent factor. Perhapos I should have concidered this before judging that aspect, and especialy the replay value (which I can almost garuntee you'll get from any Harvest moon game)

Living a long life, eh? That'd seriously explain a lot...

I got this game on the day it came out. I was a bit reluctant in buying the game, but they said they give you a little cow when you reserve... And I fell for it ;

Anyway.. The only HM games I've played were the ones for Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and Super Nintendo. So.. this game was kind of a cold shock to me. Ten days each season. Three girls, one of which you must marry within a year whether you like it or not.

*shrugs* The main thing I'm complaining about is how much I'm walking through the game starving with low amounts of crops. I'm still hoping for that watering can that can get more than one square... or maybe having that lazy bum Takakura build me an irrigation system.

I'm having fun with the game, though.. But... Eh.. I dunno.. I'm still iffy about it, even though if its slowly growing on me..

I will never be able to play this game because it is not for the PS2. *Sob* But I do have to admit that while the game looks REALLY good, the GBA version of Harvest Moon is really kickass. It's so similar to the original PSX game, same town, same charecters, but it mixes up things in new and unique ways.

Oh, for those HM fans out there, HM GBA and GC will be remade into Harvest Moon : A Wonderful Life for Girls and Harvest Moon : Friends of Mineral Town for Girls. Yep, a For Girls version is coming out in english instead of remaining untranslated like the PSX version was.

ahh, the girls version. And friends of Mineral Town is the same as Back to Nature for the PSX???? Holy shite. That's great. I played the PSX game like mad, probably would have kept me from selling that system too.

Kirbynite: You don't get the more than one square watering can from what I've gathered from Takura's little useless thingys, theres the small watering can you have, and the big watering can that does 104 waters instead of 35. But the instruction book may have left out hidden/bonus items. So who knows? And seasons are really 10 days? ....crap. there goes my entire spring harvest before it even came out

Just figured out a better way to plant crops by looking at the neighboring farm. I planted crops in a checkerboard kinda way, and I think the crops require less watering in that format....

The thing that really kills me is that I spend a lot of time at the dig site... The things I do for love

Oh, and making food. That also kills me. *nods* Can't cook at all.

My sister have preordered it... it should come next week.

The "for girls" version. I wonder what's the point with it...

Same thing as it is with the boys. Wasn't that obvious? Except, the girls version has you dealing with pregnancy.. I can't remember if it slows you down, but I do know that you won't do any work at all for a day when the baby's born...

Nami, right? yeah, me and the digging site know eachother quite well. I have been trying hard to become good friends with that lepricaun dude...the musician, or whatever, so my son can be a musician when he grows up (which I myself want to do IRL ) buit by the looks of things my best friend is Carter...but hey, stuff can happen, right?
