Ikea, peace, and the Hives?

Well, one out of three ain't bad.

The Hives blow. But Sweden has some kick ass bands. Tons of them actually.

Me? I'm not voting. I've never lived in Sweden before and I'm not about to go off mere words to form an answer to this question yet.
Well, let me put it this way then. If I had a choice to either live here or Sweden right now, I'd soooo choose Sweden. I've lived here all my life (22 years) and I can't help but feel a little....bored. I've pretty much seen everything there is to see.

I've always wanted to go to Sweden. It seems like an incredibly wonderful place to be. I can't think of one person that I've met on the net from Sweden that I don't like.

And the accents are teh sechsay!

"Swedish woman aren't all blonde, blue eyed and huge busted. It tends to lean more to the opposite, in fact."

*nod* I noticed that too when looking at Swedish chicks online. (don't ask) S'matter of fact, most of them either had brown hair of were brunettes.

I'm actually quite sure I'm the only one here who has been a substantial amount of time in both countries in question (11 months in the US and an unknown time in Sweden (vacations, shopping trips, weekend trips, drive-through-Sweden-to-get-to-Denmark-or-Germany, etc.)).

And my vote goes to Sweden. It may not be perfect, but it's definitely a great country.

I voted America becuase I have friends there, and because California is a fun place.

...and because I hear that Sweden has a really high suicide rate.

Apparently not, I just looked it up on the WHO's website. It's pretty equal to Australia's. Except Sweden has a few more girls and a few less boys kill themselves than Australia does.

Statistics.

Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Latvia, Sri Lanka, and especially Lithuania, have much higher rates.

But there is low crime rates, drugs are illegal and it's rare that people take drugs here (I know none in my class taking drugs and there is cases, but not where I live and I hear it's pretty uncommon).

I don't know about suicide rates thought. I want to know where you did hear that.

Edit: Ah, I see now. Ok, we don't have that high suicide rates after all. Good.

But I can understand that people don't wanna move over here for culteral reasons.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 17.1 Male 4.0 Female
SWEDEN 18.9 Male 8.1 Female

I thought that the suicide rate would be higher for females than males in Sweden. We do have slightly higher than US for males (but 2x the amount for females hmm), but we are quite low comparing to other countries.

Yes, the Hives sucks.

This is a public announcement: If your idea of the swedish accent includes either of: "Ingaaa", "Sven", "sweeeeeeeeeeeden", "jaaaaaaaaaaa", then go fuck yourself, and get a fucking grip. And a world map. You will see that the country you're looking for is not Sweden, but rather Switzerland or Germany, and I doubt even any of them talk like that.

Sweden ofcourse
Free healthcare, free dental care til you're 18. Stuff like that. Tv tax is a quarterly fee which I doubt many people pay. If someone calls and ask or knock on the door you can just say that you don't have a tv, given that they can't see one from the door that is, then they can't do jack.
Smoking is prohibited in public places too (like inside resturaunts which has to have a special smoke room, which is nice for someone like me that just can't stand the 'smell" And then there's the internet, the cellphone per capita, the ease of studying at university, the nice people and so forth, if anyone wants to read up on it you can probably go to....sweden.se

Edit: And the commercial is still half of what's in the US, you can notice that when we broadcast alot of US shows that "We'll be right back" happens every 3 seconds but every 15minutes or so it actually goes to commercial.
