Well, for any of you living near NJ, PA, or NY, this may interest you:

New rollercoasters are in the making for 2005 in both Six Flags Great Adventure and Dorney Park.

For Dorney Park:

Hydra: The Revenge
(It's a steel, sit-down, floorless rollercoaster being made by B&M, the same people who created Medusa)

Cost was $13 million.

Ride Length: 975.4(m)
Height: 29(m)
Drop:30.5(m)
Inversions: between 6 to 8
Ride duration: 3 min.

Special elements:
Dive loop
Zero-G Roll
Corkscrew
Cobra Roll
(no vertical loops!)

The trains are 8 cars by 4 seats.

This ride is supposed to take the place of the wooden roller coaster: Hercules.

As for Great Adventure...
not much info on that, but Intamin are the guys in charge of the new ride.

The new roller coaster here is supposed to be similar to Cedar Point's Dragster design.
(Go to www.xtremecoasters.com for pics)

Hope you found this interesting.

You can't replace wooden roller coasters. The Beast is, simply put, an experience that can't be replaced with heartless steel.

I was also dishearted when they said Hercules was removed. I've had many good memories on that one.

Hopefully, they're not replacing Rolling Thunder at Six Flags. That ride kicks ass.

Actually, it's being placed NEXT to Rolling thunder.
They plan to rid of Bugs Bunny Land (and move the kiddie attractions to a different part) to gather space for this new ride.
I've heard that Six Flags is closing it's winter lights drivethrough this year for 2 reasons:
- It didn't rake up enough profit
- They're trying to keep the development of their new coaster from the public eye.

Hope it's good. Anyone been to Cedar Point?

I love that ride. My freakish tall friend kept getting hit in the gonads on every hill the last time we went.

Good times, good times.

First trip over the border in years was to Sandusky, Ohio. I spent a day at Cedar Point...

Top Speed Dragster + Millenium Force kick so much ass

The iced tea that was served, like, everywhere in that state is horrible. I couldn't find my beautiful, artificial sweetened Nestea anywhere!

I was pretty pissed when they took Hercules away too, Wonder if Hereshey Park will get any new coasters soon. It's only 2 or 3 miles away from me.

I wish I had a good enough theme park..

Six Flags bought the local park in Washington, but it still sucks.

www.wildwaves.com

Weak water slides, boring coasters, not much, really. I could ride everything there 50 times without getting sick.

Hell, I could do that most places...

God, I want a big freaking roller coaster with some GOOD drops! >.<

I don't think Canada has any Six Flags theme parks... I know in central Canada we have two major theme parks, the closest one to me is "Paramount Canada's Wonderland", situated in Toronto.
