Rock and Roll is an editor for the NES game, Mega Man. It supports the following editing features:

- Level editing for all levels. (Except the ending, but that isn't a proper level anyways)
- TSA/Attribute Editing
- Palette Editing
- Graphics Editing
- Enemy Editing/Addition/Deletion
- Object Editing/Addition/Deletion
- Room Order Editing
- Scroll Editing
- Sound Effect Editing
- Statistic editing

Grab it at http://dan.panicus.org.

Woala! I saw the screenshots.. I never tried to modify Megaman before, but now I'm tempted =)

Congratulations, Dan! I'll get Rock N' Roll (wonderful name, btw) right now.

Just a question: Is possible to change te title screen with your editor?

Awesome, much beter than the WIP I tried awhile back!
I commend you on using a custom Open File dialog, it's perfect, usefull, and I wish more developers would make custom non-standard dialogs. Thank you so much for releasing.

The Statistics editor is freaking awesome, so many neat little things to change easily there.

Your new site design is a little empty compared to the old one. Why the change? It's still nice though, I love minmalism in all things.

-----------------
Gwa ha ha...too high a jump will kill you if there's no ceiling.
The running speed stat is so much fun to mess with... Little things like this really add alot to the editor.

------------------last edit...honest -----------------------

It's surprising how an editor can make you want to make a hack of a game.

That's fucking awesome, except for the non-standard Open File dialog, ironically enough. I can't type in a path and have it autocompleted, I can't click to open a folder (the folder with all my unzipped roms) and use the arrow keys to go up and down, searching for the right subfolder (neither the first letter of the folder). I use these features all the time. There are APIs for adding additional options to the standard Open File dialog, so if that's why you're using your own, and the APIs are accessible to your Delphi version, in the future, don't.

Jesper:

The non-standard dialogs were actually forced on me. I had problems when you double clicked on a file in the open dialog's explorer pane, it registered as the level was being edited.

I did actually attempt to find a way to disable the whole double click in the explorer pane, but there didn't seem to be a way to do it. I also looked into some third party alternatives, but didn't find any that suited my needs. That search was a while ago though, so I may look again.

So yeah, I was forced into developing a totally non-standard version unfortunately.

Macbee:

Unfortunately, you can't edit the title screen in it. Although, I have looked into it, and I'm still trying to see if the format can be edited easily. (It uses name table pointers in the data to load the data, so it may not be that hard to write an editor for it, although the actual Mega Man logo seems to be in a weird format that I haven't quite got round to working out)

Chickenlump:

Thanks I changed the design of my website because the old one just seemed ... dull to me. Plus, I'm a minimalist fan too.

Wow! Just looking at the screenies makes this editor look cool! I need to try all of these features. This looks incredible and the features seem really cool. But of course I would have to play around with it to see how it works...

*downloads*

It is good, but I don't know how to delete enemies... that could be a problem... for me. Otherwise, it is good...

From the readme:

"- Use the right mouse button whilst holding down the ctrl key to delete an object."

I usually write detailed help documents but I couldn't really get the motivation together to do it with Rock and Roll. This editor sat on my hard disc for ages, as I was planning on writing the help document, so I just decided to release it without the document.

If you are deleting/adding enemies, you need to visit the advanced enemy management dialog and adjust the enemy checkpoints, otherwise, you'll have glitched up enemies when the player dies and restart.
