I just got this mouse because my old one sucked. It works nice, but the scroll wheel won't scroll Mozilla windows. Any ideas how to fix that? I've looked for updated drivers but all I found was an email.

it will scroll other windows right? after all, the scrolling mechanism calls the same WinAPI function...

Yeah. I was having the same problem with Firefox I believe. I just use Internet Explorer. It's a lot better in my opinion.

hm...yeah, VB scrolling doesn't work for me, but firefox is fine. um...your old mouse didn't need to be installed with an installer right? otherwise, i really don't know what's going on... |

Yeah, it actually had similar problems. If I just plugged it in directly, it'd scroll most programs but not Mozilla or VB. If I installed the programs that came with it and changed the scroll settings, those would work. (Some other programs, such as Lunar Magic, wouldn't scroll anymore, but I never use it with that anyway. ) This one, however, doesn't have the scroll settings option, so it does the same as the old one. [edit] Hey, I'm halfway there. If I close the mouse program, Mozilla will scroll, but VB still won't. (Out of the blue, though, the dropdown boxes in VB suddenly will either way, but the code still doesn't. ) (edited by HyperHacker on 09-02-04 04:30 PM) |

hmm...well, one program that doesn't scroll is better than a few programs that doesn't. Anyways, I think this is the best it can get. I can't get VB code to scroll using my Microsoft Intellimouse anyways, for coding, i really don't mind since I rarely scan my code anyways. I tend to use the keyboard keys to move around in code too... |

VB doesn't have the necessary code to use the scroll mouse. There's various hacks around the problem though, I think. With Mozilla, you could try going to about:config, and checking if the options there are correct (google the mouse related ones maybe). I find that you also need to set the focus to the browser part of the UI for the mouse wheel to work also. |
