Not sure if this should go into sports or.. this.

Anyways, all summer, I've been a lazy bastard that's done little-to-none physical activities....

My first day of real Tennis practice comes... And I am unbelievably unprepared..

Not skill wise, I can still hold my own, but I was exhausted within 20 minutes of practice...

The bad thing... All summer I've been drinking a hell of a lot of water, then yesterday, I completely forgot... I got to Tennis so unbelievably thirst, and hungry....

Anyways... After the practice, I get a ride from a friend, in a 3 person pickup truck, I'm the smallest, so I sit in the middle. >.<

The whole time I felt like I was gonna puke. Damn my body and needing so much water....

So, I get home, and have two lengthy conversations with family members over the phone, my headache got worse, and it was almost certain I was gonna puke..

Oh yeah, I'm wearing shoes that are like, 1 size too small. NEVER play Tennis with small shoes.

Anyways, I get some food down, and manage to feel better, but I've still got one hell of a headache...

Being stupid, I pushed myself to stay up 'till 1 to watch Inuyasha, with my body trying to just stop moving, and my head still not liking me.

Finally I sleep, waking up 11 hours later, still exhausted.

I get up, and my calves hurt so much I had to climb down my starway using my hands sorta walking down the handrail...

I manage to get in here, and here I am. My head still hurts, my body is killing me, and I've got Tennis in 5 hours....

Time to do it all over again...

Wow, I'm a wimp, but I'm so freakin' glad I didn't do Football or anything....

Did you eat? Sometimes when I drink a hella lot of water (I try to drink 64oz a day) but if I don't eat, I'll get a headache and what have you.

Then again, maybe your body just needs to get back into the swing of things.

Yeah, I I just pushed myself too hard...

I mean, after practice, I played for another half hour, as hard as I could..

And in the seconds where nothing happened, I was like, leaning on my racket...

I shouldn't make myself do that..

The main reason I decided to put it here was because most of it was my stupidity...

And the damn weather was like 85, while I find it comfortable (In shorts and a Tee-shirt) at around 70...

You were too dehydrated and that's why you felt so bad. Just make sure you keep drinking water. Did you stretch before and after you played tennis? If you didn't you should, and then when you get home, before you go to sleep you should stretch again.

There's really no point in pushing your self that hard, you're only going to do more damage. Give your body time to get used to things before you push too hard.

(The thread is fine here.)

Never where small shoes period.... and damn boy... if you played football, you'd have no idea where you would be right now.

Also, there's a little thing called offseason conditioning, even if it's just 30 minutes you'd be better off.

Yeah, too late for conditioning...

I hate how easily I dehydrate.. But today was better. I ate more and drank more before practice...

I wore better shoes, and such also..

Damn, I feel like a Freshman. >.<

I dehydrate very easily, too. Don't worry about it, you get used to the sweet, sweet taste of water very quickly. It's not too late for conditioning, it's never too late. You just started later than everyone else. It's easier to get back into shape when you were out of shape if you were in shape before you decided to start being lazy, because you know what the life is like. Give it some time, you'll be back intop form soon enough.

Thanks..

Today was better too, yet I got tired very quickly...

If there wasn't so much pre-practing running and such, I'd be much better off.

I guess I need a day or two off, which I'm not getting. >.< I just need some dang extra time to get some exercise in.

There's nothing wrong with pushing yourself hard and feeling it the next day... just make sure you give yourself AT LEAST a day to recover. Otherwise, you just cancelled out the gains you made the previous day. If you really must keep exercising, then at least work different areas or take it very easy, i.e. just get the blood flowing to speed recovery a bit but don't actually make your muscles work.

Thats the thing, I've got Tennis every weekday.

Oh well, I'm feeling MUCH better now, a little bit of Tennis got me in a slight form of shape.

I can actually play Tennis and do drills and such for 2 hours without getting too tired. Still hotter than **** though, so thats a downside that's affecting me.
