| In the summer of 2002, Square announced that they were indeed going to remake all thr 32 bit incarnations of Final Fantasy (That's FFVII, FFVIII and FFIX) for the PS2. The graphics were to be enhanced and some spelling erros would be fixed (No "this Guy are sick" anymore!). But then something disasterous happened.... The Spirits Within bombed. As they'd ploughed a LOT of money in it, the film barely made any profit whatsoever, and with all the marketing, Square were a few million in the hole. A lot of projects were culled at this time, including the remakes, however the "official" reason is that Square went on record to say that whilst the 32 bit incarnations are playable using today's technology (i.e, thanks to the PS2's backwards compatibility) there's no reason to remake them. This suggests we may see a PS3 incarnation of FFVII/VIII/IX. So now you all know. My source BTW was various Computer game mags, www.rpgamer.com, and games news sites. |

| I would like to see a remake of FFVII at least. I think if it were to be remade then they would end up selling more games then FFVII sold in the first place.. but we know we arent going to see it for a good few years yet. | |||

I just want to see FF6 done over (again) for the Ps2 or Ps3. That would be amazing!!  And on a side note: Chrono Break was suppose to be the newest game in the Chrono Trigger/Cross series. I'll make a thread about it in Gen Gaming, so we can stay on topic here. |

| FF Tactics would look amazing with the current graphics on PS2 or later on a PS3*. FFVI would be amazing as a remake, but would be that great because I already know the story, and what to do and such. I would much rather see newer games, instead of the old ones remade with shinnies. | |||

Somone made a thread at the old board a while back about that sequel. I found a really good page about it that had pictures and everything but I can't find it anymore.  It didn't look that bad actually. It MIGHT have kicked ass. Maybe one of these days....? |

| hmm...yeah, i think the remakes are better suited for the PS3...I wonder how the remakes will look on the PS3...it seems the only improvement, outside of a few bugs, is a graphics facelift... i hope the facelift will be worth its price |

| Legfion - The point I was trying to make was that Chono Trigger/Cross/Whatever has nevere come out in Europe, that;s because Squeenix hate us and think they all smell. Ah yes FF64? There are many other examples of FF vapurware covered in the FF Wiki I work on, I should know, I wrote those pages  |
