What I can say, a 3D and realistic viewing of the Mushroom Kingdom. Looks like the screenshots are representing places from SMB3, like Grass Land, Desert Hill and Sea Side. The game has really taken Mushroom Kingdom and make a 3D world, thing that haven't happened in Super Mario 64. Very nice! |

| Ok! I don't really get the hype about this game. As far as I know Mario 128 was more like a demo to show what the Gamecube was capable of. They used the technique in Pikmin after that. I don't really think there will be a release of some game called Mario 128 for Gamecube.  |

I heard that thoose screens are possible fanmade.  And oh, Mario128 isn't a myth. It's just a devolop game for the next Mario game. It's probably going to be renamed. (Gamecube isn't even 128 bits for being fair...) |

| The odds are there's no game titled "Mario 128" coming out soon. However, it is known that Nintendo IS working on the next chapter in the Mario series and those screenshots would serve as a "tease" as to what's to come. Are they from the game itself? Probably not. But Nintendo's been pretty secrative about the new Mario game. My guess is that if we don't hear anything about it come E3, it'll be on Nintendo's next system. |

And that concept pisses me off. Back in the good old days, we'd see Game sequels arrive in plenty of time before a new system comes out. But now the rush on technology is being pushed so hard that there is barely enough time to make a decent sequel on the same system. i'm sure that in some cases there are awesome sequels, but honestly, we only get 1 mario game per system nowadays, and they aren't all that great. And at this point, i don't feel that graphics are going to get all that much better to make me want to purchase a new system every three months. All that should matter ( and all that used to matter) is gameplay. Graphics help, but not save. |

Um, the last Mario game that came out was Super Mario Sunshine.  Some liked it, some didn't. But don't tell me SM64 was a fKitten Yiffer. I'd ASSUME it'll be a GameCube game (which makes sense if the new system has GC compatibility) but who knows? |

| ARRRRRGH! I remember this topic a LONG time ago Let me put my following words on auto-cool: MARIO 128 IS A REAL GAME! IT IS NOT JUST AN OLD DEMO!  For fucks sake. Ok, I'm calming down now... So yeah, what I said. I know that it might have BEEN a demo at one point to show off the graphical and processor features of the Gamecube, but it has long since been made into plans for a new game. Mario 128 is just a working title and is most likely going to be changed. Oh, and those screenshots are soooo horribly faked.  |

| Those pictures are just tech demos to show pretty rendering powers of the Game Cube console. If that. It looks like someone just 3D-ified any random Mario setting. And did a nice job of it. As an interesting side note, I just took a crap. Closely examing my fecal matter revealed to me a screen shot of Yoshi Story 2. God damn, I'm good. Mario 128 is a game. It was called Mario Sunshine. |
