Well, a lot of people are going YI hacking crazy, and so am I, but let's not forget I already released the first demo, and am now working on bringing you folks the next demo, which will contain the entire 1st world (with 1 Extra). I'm not sure when I'll be done, but I'm taking my time and not rushing, so it doesn't turn out like crap. I'm in a real competitive mode now, because this is my big chance to be a top YI hacker , I came too late on the SMW hacking scene and I sucked anyway, but here is my chance to start over new. Thus, I present to you my screens from demo 2 so far... 1-5: Land of Wacky Climates (Yes, cpu, I changed the level names, happy now? . This level is pretty self explanatory, very unpredictable changes in climate. You find yourself in a grassland, then a volcanic cave, and then a winter wonderland) 1-6: The Amazing Chase (Here, you are chased by several big ol' bad guys, as you can see, Giant Tap Tap and Blarggs are the ones featured in the screens, can you guess which other one there is? |

1st screen: Awesome work with that. 2nd screen: Foggy and cool. 3rd: Who doesn't love skiing? 4th: I always hated those guys... 5th: I like that chase. I like that level where he chases you in the original YI. Overall: Can't wait for the demo. Good work. And what is that last one that chases you? I am stumped... |

Chases are nice because it give to the level an new emotion. What I really would like to do is put bosses in the mid of the level without finish with it when the boss is killed. The only boss who is really possible to do that is Salvo the Slime. The bosses are the only weak point in this game: they are too easy too beat. The 3 harder bosses (to get a 100% score) -Prince Froggy -King Bowser -Hookbill Koopa The 3 most pathetic bosses -Salvo the Slime -Sluggy -Bashful |

Prince froggy is by far one of the easiest bosses out there. All you have to di is stand in the middle and you will never get hit. (At least it works for me.) Anyways, the levels are looking awesome. Chase scenes always rock... a lot. Looking good, keep it up |

The 3rd chase is actually the giant chomp shark chase. So, you will be harassed by those three fellows . (edited by Golden Yoshi on 08-23-04 09:11 PM) |

Well, look what I just found, another screen of my hack. This one is from 1-7: Shy-Guy Obesity. This level is chock full of those loveable, chubby, yet underappreciated and once-used shyguys. So, I am paying homage to those dudes in this level (and hopefully in future levels ) Here it is... |

Its cool use rare enemies like this type of shyguy. I think he appear just in one level of the original Yoshi's Island. Nice change of pallete Golden Yoshi!

Yep, the fat shyguys only appeared in 2-7 of the original YI. Thanks, which palettes did you like Mega Luigi, the FG or the BG palettes?

With all that enemies from the other topic, and I haven't remembered from the fat Shy Guy...good point. With all this Shy Guy types is hard remember all they. Oh yes, I've remembered from the Shy Guy who shots seeds if you jump on his head. How about a shy guy world? Not necessary a world, but a level? Many shy guys from all types. |

Last Screen: Well... BG palette colides with FG. Foreground is dark and background is bright. Really, really bright. Maybe make the background color (NOT THE PLATFORMS IN THE BACKGROUND!) a darker color. It might not colide with that. But still good work with the screenie.

I think it looks fine. The foreground isn't that dark, it is a medium blue, and along with the brighter BG it provides a small nuance.

Originally posted by Golden Yoshi Well, that is my opinion. Some others will like it, and others won't. From what I have seen of that level, it is too bright. It might not in a different part... who knows? |
