Yeah; is there anyway to tell what tilesets and spritesets contain? I mean, I want to make a level, but I don't feel like playing through all of the welcome sequence over and over again just to find its a bad tile or spriteset.

Just look at a level with a tileset(s) you want to use. Go to that level, look at the level header, copy down the numbers you want to use, and copy them into the level you're working on. If you just want to use the entire level header from the other level, open the level's header that you're working on and import it from the different level. That's what I did, it wasn't that hard.

...ok. I downloaded the VB runtimes and installed them and nothing happened... anyone got a link to the correct runtimes I need to install? I want to try this editor... EDIT: Nevermind. I can find them in Google (already have). EDIT2: If anyone needs it, go here. http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?comdlg32 Download it and put it in the windows/system directory. It should work then. EDIT3: I get an error now... in version 1.0. It says "Unknown object type (WEIRD error!) : Object FE thinks its type0 Bad things will likely happen if Eggvine keeps running. Aborting." Know how to fix that? (edited by cpubasic13 on 08-18-04 05:59 PM) (edited by cpubasic13 on 08-18-04 06:05 PM) (edited by cpubasic13 on 08-18-04 06:30 PM) |

Sorry for not having a wider range of ROMs supported. Originally posted by Kirby ATWIE won't blow up. The page is just uggly in IE. I pointed that out so people don't insult my HTML skills. Then again, if I'm providing you an excuse to go get Firefox or something, that's all the more woot. |

The last days I hadn't been able to test the editor, so i'm probably is going to be shocked how things have changed/been better. ... Yes the GUI is nicer, thought I would like a easier header setting thing (a dropdown menu, the numbers dosen't tell me what it is ) |

Originally posted by Kitten Yiffer Yes, drop down menus would be nice, but really, I don't think they are necessary for the time being. You can easily refer to other levels to copy their header information. You just gotta be familiar with the YI levels . |

I, too, would like dropdown lists for those header options. I just don't feel like checking each of the possible options right now (what? I'm tired. I just coded an editor that estimates said would take 3 months in 3 weeks ). I think the easiest way to do that feature would be to load from another data file. Its format would be something like this: (Number of setting), "Value (hex)", "Result" ...if someone makes that file, I'll code it up nice and quick like. Wow!!!! This is good news indeed. Its nice to finally have an editor available that edits SMW2 YI. Should be seeing some nice edits of that game in the future.

Originally posted by jonwilThese things take time. I've still got some more important features to attend to. Yes, I'd like it to do that too. I'd also like main/midway entrance support, which Cellar Dweller's latest data should make pretty easy (hooray for Cellar Dweller!). |

Well, a feature to push objects to the bottom would be nice. I accidentally clicked on "44 - Castle Wall" at (27,6A) in "97 6-8 Pick A Door Room", and all the objects that used to be on top of it suddenly disappeared under the wall. I imagine it would come in useful for navigating levels like "9C 2-1 Mario Star Room", as well. By the way, is it possible to edit the properties of special objects in the editor, like that rotating door? It would be nice to be able to use that object in other levels. |
